I agree on Akiha's Normal End being mind-numbingly depressing. I preferred the happier ends. I really wish Akiha would have gotten at least one somewhat happy end though. But no, it's either Shiki Kills Himself or Akiha spends the rest of her life as a mindless vampire whom Shiki lets suck his blood. God damn, Type-Moon.

That was probably a Dead End, or you didn't read all the way as he lives from teh "suicide", which was really just him killing Roa. Ciel is a bit different in that BOTH of her endings are Happy.

I just played Tsukihime for the first time. Ciel's True Ending is a continual flip-flop that includes what all of everyone else has said. He stabs himself, and does get the happy thing with Ciel that is revealed to be a dream, but then he actually does wake up and survive through it all, and does end up with a happy ending with Ciel. Pretty much the only difference between Ciel's True and Good ends is that in the Good End Arc didn't get killed, so the love triangle continues.

You sure? I'm pretty sure in the True End Shiki kills part of the earth itself or soemthing so that he's able to see Arc's lines even at night, and destroys her. Or else Arc would have killed Shiki in the True End.

He does kill a part of the earth in order to see Arc's lines, but instead of piercing a dot to kill her permanently, he just manages to cut an arm off before Arc rams her hand right through his chest. Then I forgot what happened afterwards, but Arc basically gives up on trying to take Shiki when she realizes he won't be hers, and goes back to her castle to recover all of her wounds

Shiki kills Earth link, sees lines.
Arc pierces chest.
Shiki slices at thigh.
Arc grabs his head and his brains are about to leak out screaming to him 'you are the one that refused me'.
Shiki wit hthe last ounce of strength slices of her arm cause he cannot do anything else.
The shock and pain of being sliced cools down Arc somewhat.
End result: Arc was a cut arm, big thigh wound and calms down, while wanting Shiki to come with her.
Shiki has a hole in chest, his brains leak and can barely nod his head to refuse her. Arc leaves to heal before she becomes berserk and wrecks shit again. Ciel barely heals our hero who may or may not survive in the end.
So yeah, in a straight battle, the result is as expected.
