In the new Higurashi Rei, Rika has 3 loops and has already used 2 of them, covered by Oniokoshi and Hoshiwatashi. I doubt that the third won't be used to deal with the current series of disasters in Hinamizawa, but that does mean there will presumably be a third manga to cover the answer arc for Rei. Yeah. Technically, the whole interdimensional alien origin stuff originates from some lines in Matsuri, then got more detailed with some first person flashbacks in the original Ps2 Miotsukushi and finally the actual arc in Kizuna.

However, it's all clearly incompatible with the Eua stuff even if it was left very vague. Even Mei, which is written by the console writer, is disregarding Kizuna and shows Hanyuu already as Hanyuu with the horn scratch and such in the ancient past.

Many events are comedic, but the main plot is pretty serious and there are serious events too.

Mei's take on Hanyuu seems to be that her own memories about her past are kind of unreliable, with an event and character story where she seemed surprised and uneasy about stuff she suddenly remembers. Although it hasn't gone into the Eua <-> Hanyuu connections at all, aside from the revelation that both have the first birthday (or rather, "Day of Descent").

We did get to see the club graduating and leaving one by one in the manga, also Satoko feeling like her life was going nowhere before deciding to hop on the Rika ship.

The "you can't go back to the past" stuff from after the club meeting was entirely skipped though, since Eua snatches her even before the meeting proper starts here. I think the manga so far has been doing a much better job at showing Satoko's suffering, in spite of missing that great scene, although at this point I have no idea how she will actually start going crazy and planning her "game".

Even in this chapter Eua talks about decisions creating infinite fragments and with her power Satoko being being able to choose her own future. So far, dragging Rika along hasn't come up at all.

I guess all the fragments that exist will turn out to be bad for Satoko and she will then decide to create a world with her own hands, but I'm not sure how that will be portrayed since so far Satoko hasn't been nearly as aggressive as her anime self and Eua here didn't even talk about the suicide part yet.
