This movie was so beautiful. I was hypnotized with the stories being told let alone the visuals, this is just heartfelt and they really paid homage to Haruki Murakami with such an adaptation. It piqued my interest when I read it was written by the owarai geinin Jiro from SISSONNE.
Toyokawa Etsushi and Nakamura Ryona and their goofiness were on point. Kimura Yoshino's and Seino Nana's feeling of unevenness was great. I especially loved Kimura's character. Kishitani Goro, Okayama Amane, and Kishii Yukino was a bizarre trio in a good way.
The convos between all these groups were so fun that I couldn't help but watch with a stupid grin on my face, sometimes I even LOL. I just can't get enough of the inappropriate feeling this drama gives that commercial dramas can't air. I hope there's a season 2 in the making, that ending screams for one.

Recently NHK has been producing many good dramas with originality, and this one was another drama that I enjoyed watching from start to finish. The way the relationship between Yuki Sakurai and Sei Shiraishi, the relationship between the members of Sun Side Up, and the friendships between the otaku, everything felt very realistic and heartwarming. Funny you mention that, I've been feeling the same way looking at what came out last year which continues this year. More and more dramas are starting to either adopt the 24 fps standard or increase the shutter speed of the cameras to match the 24 fps look without changing from 29.9 fps. There's also more of an effort to get grittier and/or more realistic lighting for shows in general. Last season we got way more mystery thrillers than usual, which usually only come once in a while or from regular WOWOW programs.

A good coming-of-age school film. I personally like films that include the process of creating or practicing something, in this case filmmaking. I especially liked it because the scenes of students' life, love and heartbreak were natural and realistic. With that being said, was it an homage to The Girl Who Leapt Through Time? The time machine and the world in the future are necessary as motivation, but I felt a little uncomfortable about them. Anything with subtitles.
A lot of variety will have almost full subtitles (テロップ、字幕) edited right into the video so you can just watch that. Pretty sure youtubers do that too but I don't watch any so I dunno. Plus other editing tricks like drawings added to the video to visually illustrate the anecdote and such make it easier to understand.
For the rest you'll have to find a source that has the Japanese subtitle file. So watch variety programs and don't watch anything without subs would be my advice.

Watch with JP subs. That's what I'm doing when I can at least. It helps if you've got a solid grip on grammar, you just have to look up some unknown words every now and then. It can be tiresome though, depending on how much vocab you already know.
If you're asking for specific titles, I'd just recommend picking something you like, that way it won't be just learning the language, you'll actually have a purpose beside that. Try to ease yourself into watching in JP, start with something lighter, romance, comedy, idk. Don't go head first into shows with lots of professional/field-specific vocabulary like political or medical dramas or you'll be pausing and checking the dictionary every 10 seconds.

I liked the movie as well. Ito Marika nailed the weirdness of the main character, she really feels like a jidaigeki geek all along. Also her passion about it is nice, I like to see people excited about things they love.

But like you said, the future plot was kind of just there, it wasn't really explained and felt unninportant (except that it was important).

So yes, good good coming of age movie with a few slips, I recommend it.

I'm not a big fan of new taiga dramas even if they pique my interest but I ended up watching it. I had mixed feelings about it though because of how the Heike are portrayed. I'm a fan of the epic The Tale of the Heike (I also loved two adaptations of it in the taiga drama Taira no Kiyomori and last year's anime Heike Monogatari) so I still want to watch more of it. But I'm not expecting it to be as good as those two.

Go through the core anki decks, read VNs or LNs or whatever if you want to learn quickly. Watch shit with JP subs (you can use this web browser extension called yomi chan and a site called animebook(dot)io to look up any unkown words just by hovering over it but in order to do that you need soft subs). A long running kids show might help (Detective conan, sailor moon etc) Having said that here's some dramas I found easy (keep in mind I already read VNs and watched tons of anime before then)

It was interesting to see how each small story progresses in parallel on the same time axis and intersects with each other. Rather than the individuality of the three directors, the atmosphere of the entire film leaves a surprisingly refreshing aftertaste. My favorite part was the story of Ryuhei Matsuda. The way he looked, not knowing what he was going to do, reminded me of "The Scythian Lamb”. When I found Reina Matsui's name in the ending, I was like,
