I've had basic biology classes (I don't live in the States so statistics we were given were not based on "fat" children) and have had three friends working with children of a specific age on a regular basis (teacher, counselors).
I also remember in which grade we boys were separated from the girls when changing clothes for physical education classes "because they're growing breasts" as my teacher eloquently put it.
