I'm like 40 eps in and compared to other anime I'm not enjoying this very much due to lack of substance behind the plot or story.

I did recently finish Hunter x Hunter which has a fucking 10/10 story and atmosphere. AOT just feels cheap to me. Like they keep teasing you with a story but there is no big reveal.

HxH (hell even My Hero Academia) had more story and action per episode that AOT by FAR. Its becoming so tedious I've resorted to watching it passively because I just can't sit through the pretentious slow moving and usually predictable plot.

Characters also feel very shallow and I struggle to care about anyone. This makes the action pointless because I don't really care if someone lives to dies, I just want to know wtf is going on. There's always some Deus Ex Machina or coincidental event stopping story progression because of a fight. So long and drawn out and boring.

Anytime even 1 sentence of story development is revealed (which is every 10 episodes) its so limited and contextless that I'm like "oh FFS what does that even mean and who cares"
