I think one of the major keys to writing is that you write a story you want to tell. Don't jump to requests until you have some practice.

Also, keep it simple at first. Many authors started with the "X gets captured and fucked, the end" . You don't need to jump into an epic like Magus' story. Pick a girl you like and give it a shot.

What shoggoths have is extreme versatility rather than raw power. Being able to make pretty much any simple object if they have enough body mass for it is quite handy, as is the ability to form all sorts of organs and body structures as needed.
