Maybe stuff like 食レポ (food reviews) and shit where they use 比喩 more or something. Watching some of that might be good material, but in general, no material teaches you lewd stuff, you gotta figure it out yourself

step by step abridged tutorial to Japanese:

Anyway, here's some tips and recommended resouces:

Choose slice of life over fantasy if you can. Fantasy/ sci-fi tends to have difficult vocabulary that is also not used in daily conversation so it will be less useful. SoL usually has everyday conversations so it's better reference
>VTubers/ Youtubers
If you're into Vtubers, they are a good source for exhaustive listening. They are not professional voice actors so they don't speak slowly, loudly and clearly most of the time. Additionally they stream for hours at a time. but them on as BGM and just let the sound flow into your ears. If you can pick up even stray words, that's good enough to begin with. Radio is a good alternative but people on the radio tend to be professionals, so it's not quite the same.
>Visit Japan
Go to the country. (Has to be after they open the borders.) There is no better stimulation than being in the real environment of the language. Japanese writing everywhere, japanese speaking everywhere. Generally good shit.
>Becoming upset/ burnout/ losing motivation
Take it easy. We're not God, we're humans. We forget, we make mistakes. Sometimes, we forget the same thing/ make the same mistake over and over and over again and it feels really bad, but eventually your brain will adapt and fix it. There's tons of words and grammar I would look up every single time I came across and every time I'd be like "Fuck, I'm supposed to fucking know that"
Turns out, if you stick with it long enough, you end up actually knowing it. Doing a little every day is what matters. Remember, there is people living in Japan their whole life for 25+ years that still make mistakes in kanji or whatever. There's literally tv shows/ quiz shows where people get asked how kanji are read or what sentences mean and many people get it wrong. Just because you can't read the surname 防人(sakimori) doesn't mean you're not improving.
>Bad habits
Don't use "I could get bad habits" as an excuse not to use the language. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. Don't get stuck on being "correct". Language is like a muscle, you need to use it to train it. Don't worry about bad habits. Get habits. If they're bad you can always fix them later.

By break I mean I didn’t anki at all, I didn’t read or do any dedicated input. I did keep watching anime with english subs but not that many shows, no more than 1 per season.
I was really surprised with how quickly I was able to recover in the past few months and surpass where I was before. I went through anki and marked everything I remembered as mature just to see how much I forgot, and it was around 3000 words. I still remembered around 2000 words. After I started reading again I started to remember a lot of words very quickly. You can definitely recover from a break since the most common words and phrases stick in your brain so long.

config files arent overwritten you'll get a .pacnew file to manually check if some defaults changed or new options were added
theres a package called downgrade with which you can easily install a certain version as well and it'll edit your pacman config to keep that version
