The OP forgot to update it but it was pretty minor and we don't update often so it is We updated it to:

>Script translation and editing done 100%. Text synced, patches created, undergoing testing.

But yeah to repeat what I said in /a/, I have been doing some soul searching on whether it is ready for release or not. But at this time, there are too many things missing across versions and some egregious bugs like the PS2 versions hanging on saving, the PSP needs ports of QOL changes the PS2 version has, and etc. I can't really in good conscience do it. I don't have time to do a last minute rush to fix these things before Christmas so I can only risk the anger and disappointment of people here and hope they understand. Will have a blog post out shortly elaborating a bit on this. I'm sorry we weren't able to release it this year to people who were looking forward to it.

Ixrec wasn't a bitch. He was a bad translator but he also had a pretty thick skin and being bullied by Moogydrones wouldn't have upset him.

It's usually always cursed in the VN scene. It's like this because groups always pop up saying that they know the language or they are learning it but they swear it's not JLPT5 and will be officially translating a project. They then realize how difficult certain words are to translate or hardly know the structure of Japanese and use MTL. But by that point everyone in the group reaches the epiphany that MTL is hardly even that good to base a translation off of and the project becomes dead because they spent more time trying to hide the fact they do not know how to do anything than to learn the language itself. The failure rate is extremely high for this reason alone historically. I hardly know any groups that exist nowadays that do a decent job of translation and selling it off to a company to get the license. If I remember most who know how to do anything are freelance usually.

>Commie. Had a guy translate the entire game, said guy was a japanese transfer student and really fucking bad at english. Talked in IRC about how they'd have to redo the entire script in 2012. Project still isn't offically cancelled.
>Mcjon. Some weeb from beast lair, a Type-moon fan website. did 6 chapters and then progress halted for several years. Project offically died when an anon from /tmg/ wanted to start his own translation project and checked the chapter 1 script to see if there was a need to redo the already translated chapters, got really fucking mad at how absolutely nobody ever checked if this script was any good in like 5 years and began posting screenshots, began saying you could run the french translation through google translate and it would be more accurate. Screenshots reach Mcjon, he says he started the translation after taking japanese classes for a year back when he was depressed or something and that he wants to crawl into a hole and die for ever making those mistakes, announces project is dead. /tmg/ anon gets bored and goes back to jerking off to cunny or something.
>Hollow moon. Bunch of discord/twitter weebs who took the anon maybe a bit too literal, they want to translate the french script to english. Except they're also checking the mcjon script to see how much of it they can use. Except they hire "JP-checkers" who can make sure whatever they release is accurate to the japanese script. Except then they got some actual japanese translators? maybe? Stopped posting actual patch updates after some anon pointed out several errors in a chapter (which they fixed? then why did you stop?). Announce on twitter they'll translate tsukihime remake the moment the trailer dropped or some shit.

It's funny how almost all of JAST's releases this year were announced only a couple of months before release at most while Katahane and Django have been stuck in the backlog for years. The Dead Aegis release might be a sign that JAST may keep it up for a while, though I'm not sure where they are getting the manpower from. It's good for Mangagamer that their backlog is getting cleared up though Luckydog1 and Rance X will be there for a while. Both companies are still doing better than Sekai Project, even if JAST's backlog is older than the Sekai Project itself. Not counting the feng titles, Sekai's backlog includes Ley-Line, Harumade Kururu, Hoshizora no Memoria Eternal Heart, Sanarara R, and a good number of short doujin titles that don't seem like they'll release any time soon. Nekonyan's backlog might be getting kind of lengthy, but they'll probably speed up on releases before their backlog gets too unmanageable. Maybe.

Yeah that is the weird part isn't it? I mean you had Murumasa and a few others quickly out of the gate out of nowhere style surprises. For the manpower I have to think they have an all star team of translators internally that can get anything out a year later but there might be issues with debugging and Programming. I keep hearing that this is a huge bottleneck currently due the weird programs and how they run, with some issues due to there being no hardware scaling for monitors that have 2k screens or 4k at times. And that is hard to account for sadly with companies slowly going to full hd. Dead Aegis looks solid as well JAST is getting into the Gameplay Market very well I noticed to try and combat Rance supremacy lol. As for Mangagamer I can agree Rance X is a huge title and IX is another one. I do not think people understand how huge those games are that I think Mangagamer has had to put all hands on deck just to even get it as far as they have with Rance 1,2 Kai and Sengoku Rance. Hopefully Alicesoft announces a 4th game remake down the line. I can agree Sekai Project is doing poorly even though they have short moege doujins which should be the easiest ones to translate and bring over. Nekonyan I have more faith in because I can tell they at least are releasing VN's but the only thing I do not know is if their translation quality is better than Sekai itself. Great news for MG and JAST overall though is that they are clearing out their library and seem to know the direction they need to go in to keep relevant in the VN scene. When in the past it looked like Mangagamer was falling apart not releasing anything and making a ton of announcements and barely any movement was going on, JAST was very slow to the point of one release a year and very uninspired to do anything. It's just a huge turnaround.

You think there's even 1% chance that we will get Rance 03 or another Alicesoft title from MangaGamer after they release Rance IX? Rance 03, maybe. But it probably costs quite a bit since there will be seiyuu royalties to pay, so it might depend on IX's sales.
As for other Alicesoft titles, I think they made it clear that MG has Rance and the other titles are free pickings. I wouldn't be surprised if Shiravune already had one or two of their MILF games. What I can see is Evenicle 2 ending up on the MG store (as well as JAST/FAKKU/Johren).

I think AS wanted to do their other licenses by themselves after releasing Evenicle 2. It would be odd they would go solo just for one title. MG got really lucky by licensing Rance IX and X early before TADA left. I'm pretty sure that current Alicesoft and whoever is in charge with the overseas communications would have never sold it to them.
I'm quite curious to see where Eve2 will end up. They can redeem themselves by releasing it on GOG and MG uncut and mosaic free or will they take a big paycheck and release it on Shira just like DD.

On another note, I think this is a new low for Sekai Project where dovac is arguing with random users on vndb.

Yes I believe we will get the rest. Rance sells always to warrant it and AS mentioned in the past even if they could sell Evenicle 2 on the Steam store the series would stay with MG. After this debacle on Steam I have to agree with many here and say we may see Evenicle on multiple storefronts like JAST, MG etc. As for Gameplay Developers I have no clue but I wish there was more of it. It's easier to sell to the masses because they usually think that never exists in the eroge market besides barebones basic stuff and it gives alternatives.

It won't be so bad if Alicesoft releases with Shiravune if the only problem is that a non-mosaic release is impossible and all other content is untouched like with Dohna Dohna. Well, not bad for the pirates anyways, legitimate buyers will have to deal with Denuvo unless I'm mistaken.

>> No.37834383

>It won't be so bad if Alicesoft releases with Shiravune
There's no way they'd do that for more than 2-3 releases because the entire point of Alicesoft going solo was so that they could get ALL of the recurring sales themselves. Shiravune releases move obscenely few units because the storefront is complete fucking shit and everything is censored. There's no long-term gain to working with them, all you get is whatever immediate payout they give you for licensing your titles and clearly Alicesoft doesn't care for that otherwise they'd have continued working with mangagamer.

That was on the assumption they could get it on Steam, which obviously isn't happening any more even with cutting content. It becomes far less worth it for them if they can't since that is where the big sales numbers come from.

That's pretty bad. I mean, the meaning of the sentences was largely translated, but they didn't address quirks of Japanese prose that are unnatural in English, which impairs readability and makes it hard to discern the meaning.
>stock phrases like "If that's the case..."
>formatting like "my sense that 'Touma is a good person deep down' didn't"
>overuse of ellipses
>incohesion like in "It sure is. If not for me."
>a general sense of lines not following each other
>stiff repetition (not an offender here but seeing their approach it's bound to happen elsewhere)
None of those issues would be too bad on their own if they're sporadic, but together I found myself getting confused and having to reread the lines several times to ensure I understood them right.

It's not just the formatting for that specific part. It left out the idea that Haruki has this memory of a good-natured Kazusa that only he knows (connected to From When The Snow Melts, To When It Falls Again). This is even touched upon later when he says that other people (his teacher, Kazusa herself) are trying to overwrite his memory of her with their own whenever it happens.
