In Fate, Shinji dies.

In UBW, the epilogue says he becomes more like his old self (before he learned he can't learn magecraft and broke down) and probably stops raping Sakura.

The problem he has with armors and non-sword weapons is that Tracing the meaning behind their creation is harder for him, as he's a field of swords. Swords represent ideals and the will to fight, shields represent protection and the will to guard. Different concepts, makes it harder to understand. What makes Shirou's Tracing so much better than normal Projection is the extra steps added, and it skews when he can't understand the reason and method behind their creation.

Technically, he can also project things like Gae Bolg, though there's no telling whether he can use its activation or not. He doesn't really use true "activations" for anything besides Rho Aias. Caladbolg is just used as a self-destructing noble phantasm, Hrunting's tracking ability is natural to it, and Kanshou/Bakuya don't have activations, just their special technique.

Well, to be fair, things like the Gae Bolg shouldn't really be a problem as Archer says he could activate Excalibur. And unless I'm mistaken, Excalibur has a usage restriction as well, so most should be possible unless he was bluffing.
It may also be the fact that for someone like him, using BP's is more efficient then using the activation of say Caladbolg, which I imagine is similar to Excalibur.

He could do it, but it would be suicidal. The reserves required for it are something only Arturia has.

Also Caladbolg would probably be something like a great cleave rather than a slash of holiness. It was famed for cleaving off the tops of hills after all. But Caladbolg II probably cannot do that, since it's no longer a hacking weapon.

Then she finally finds some reprieve in the shit fiesta that is her life and BAM, her pampered sister takes away that too from right under her nose. Zouken probably loses any interest in her, without the Grail Wars Sakura has no meaning for him. I doubt he'll keep on "training" her and messing with the crest worm, Zouken was a selfish bastard but not a sadist.
Shinji is still a problem though, but honestly, Sakura stopped being hurt that much by his violence a long time ago, which is the main reason Shinji is always pissed off at her, he feels like fucking a doll.
As for what happens after, Sakura is still the true heir of the Makouto's family, with Zouken's death she would become the head of the family and at point she could just send Shinji away and try to regain her life, she's strong after all and it won't be that hard.
