Never said that, I just don't care enough to learn anything further than the compulsory classes I did at Primary School, with everything I even have a passing interest in being translated, there's no use for the time and effort I'd need to put in.

Learning kanji is the easy part of learning Japanese.
You just memorize characters and then when you see them you know what they mean right away (in fact you might know what they mean without even knowing how to say them out loud!).
The hard part is learning enough of the basics that you can start playing/watching stuff in pure Japanese. Once you're at that point the rest is learned automatically while you're doing things you enjoy.

If you believe Kanji is hard, it will be hard.

There is absolutely no objective basis for your claims of difficulty or easiness in learning kanji.

Asians have been learning kanji for thousands upon thousands of years.

What makes it normal for them, but "hard" for you? It's mindset. You're too busy whining about the differences between English alphabet and Japanese kanji that you're wasting time that would be better spent grinding the kanji.

How many hours of listening to Japanese audio have you put in this year? I recently broke past the 1400 hours mark, but that doesn't include a lot of stuff I listened to...it just includes what I remembered to write down.

How many Japanese things have you been doing? Do you try to read the text before Touhou boss fights? Do you read manga in native Japanese? Do you read Japanese newspapers? Do you play Japanese video games? Do you browse Japanese websites?

How much do you understand? How much can you figure out on your own without having to use any external resources? Do you go use a Japanese dictionary when you need to look up words you don't know?

Ask yourself these questions, then ask how good your Japanese is.

Everybody who says Kanji is easy are chinks and gooks. No exceptions.

Kanji is the easiest part about Japanese. Katakana is the next easiest. Hiragana is the hardest because I actually have to exert effort.

If the people who browse /jp/ had the energy and fortitude to learn japanese which they don't wouldn't they wouldn't use it to learn japanese but do something productive, like fix toasters or something.

Eh, it seems to me it wouldn't be that hard. Yeah, sitting there trying to learn them all one by one would be a bitch, but if you sit there with a dictionary and actually read things you enjoy, you could probably get a working knowledge of it before too long. Might be tedious at first, but as soon as you start remembering stuff gets much easier.

Pretty sure that's how Ixrec did it, at least according to the thangies he wrote for his forum.

Sounds hard to me, since Japanese people still learn Kanji in High School and beyond.

That said I really don't care, I'm not going to learn it either way.

Ive been watching animus for 7 years and can only speak shitty ass phrases and couldn't hold a conversation with a toddler. Just hearing it being spoke is not enough. You have to actually care about learning it to pick out words and shit.

On the other hand, my pronunciation is perfect and listening is top notch. I just don't know what is being said but I can pick out words and shit.

I recently started taking Japanese classes and we've been (very casually) learning kanji, sort of "on the side".
At 40 kanji per month (only 10 per week!), you learn 1/4 of all standard kanji in a single year, and that's a super casual pace.
After two years (the amount of time it normally takes someone to become truly proficient in a language, assuming a normal pace) you'd know close to a thousand kanji and would be quite functional.
Assuming a decent pace (14 per week, still only 2 characters per day!) you'd have learned almost 3/4 of all standard kanji in those two years alone.
