Realta Nua was also ported to PC later. Anyways, it does have a shitload of script changes (I literally have 606 diff files of the script on my computer). The script changes are all over the fucking place. Some of it is censorship (obviously cut H-scenes, but also tamer language and stuff), some of it is just random writing changes because autsim, and other stuff is like typo/grammar fixes. This is all just a bunch of autism that doesn't really matter though so RN is fine (the original isn't even voiced). And yes, that's the first route. Technically RN lets you play routes out of order for some dumb reason (the original release is not like this), but nobody in their right mind would not do the correct Fate -> UBW -> Heaven's Feel order.

You should definitely read 沙耶の唄. It's an absolute classic.
It's the single most spoiler-heavy VN I've read though, so if you don't already know anything about it I recommend just downloading it without looking up anything. The recommended reading time is something like 3 hours so it isn't a big time investment.

You might also want to check out the official Monster Girl Encyclopedia game that's in development right now when it comes out. MGE is a transhumanist fantasy setting, which is pretty unique. No idea how much those themes will play into the game, but it looks like it'll be pretty fun either way.

It's not as bad as you probably think. There's just a couple of endings for the main route and you're very unlikely to get the true ending without a guide. The other endings are very obvious as they're all determined only by whether you send the D-mail or not at the end of the chapter dealing with the specific character. IIRC if you don't send the D-mail you're always directed to that character's ending.
A huge majority of the phone mails give you just tiny bits of conversation or a short scene and don't affect endings.

Their workflow achieves consistent visual quality throughout the game but shiny saturated colors can't fix a lack of fundamentals. The end result looks highly manufactured and cheap at the same time.

Install it, if you don't know Japanese just Google if you get stuck.
Once you have WinXP installed and running, reboot and enter Safe Mode, to do this Hit the F8 key during boot(don't hold down the key or it won't work), once inside Safe Mode, look at the toolbar "Devices" and find "Insert Guest Addons CD Image" install it including Direct3D support. Next go into the VM settings "Display" and enable "3D Acceleration" and set the video memory to 128mb.
Now go to same "Devices" from before and find "Shared Folders" and change to "Bidirectional" This will allow you to just drag and drop files from your main OS into Win XP.
That's it.

There's a very good reason to install the original JP windows xp, as that is recorded and a few games check for it that, specifically. That way, you avoid extra patches and workarounds for later games.
