I really like Shiki's straightforwardness towards Ciel, be it his attraction or just his feelings in general. Don't think I would be exaggerating if I said he pretty much complimented every single aspects of her out loud, which always leads to funny and cute situations between them. It's honestly refreshing compared to your usual main character, and offers a completely different dynamic compared to Arcueid which usually leads Shiki to be more of a tsundere. Both are equally fucking cute dynamic.

Now that the dust has settled, can we finally agree that HF is the best Fate anime ever made?

Most of the action was goofy disjointed webgen shit, and it royally butchered every character in some way or another, not just Kotomine and Illya. Zouken's familial value system is completely turned on its head, what Shirou finds attractive about Sakura is inverted, all his growth that isn't related to protecting Sakura is ignored, his mental degradation is practically absent, and it looks like he sprouts swords deliberately, Rin being cold, standoffish, and homicidal towards Sakura is aggressively downplayed or outright replaced with her being cutesy like getting flustered when called nee-san which completely ruins the conflict and cathartic resolution at the end, etc.

Given that it's a half-assed highlight reel I don't know what could even be called attempting to be emotionally resonant other than the ebin slow motion walk cycle they did twice for some reason. Speaking of which, Sakura was handled the worst because every moment she's onscreen the movie transforms into a melodrama with a soaring score when her scenes used to generally be very grounded or allegorical. It's like when there's too much spice or alcohol in something to the point that you can no longer taste anything else. The dream scene was the only good one.

A battle between Servants is supposed to be a fight between two superhuman beings so it makes sense for it to be extreme, espcenially since they both Rider and Saber had infinite mana and were going all out. Whereas Shirou vs Kotomine were two crippled and almost dead dudes desperately trying to kill each other before they themselves died. It would have been pretty fucking ridiculous if that had been the most over the top action scene of the movie.
