At her core she's still perpetually haunted by guilt, a thorough "do as I say but not as I do" hypocrite, cares more about others than herself, self-deprecating and self-sacrificing, and doesn't hold grudges towards others no matter how deeply they wronged her.

She got an actual character arc in TsukiRe and Noel is a perfect/10 addition. While I personally am a bit sad that she doesn't have her cold and murderous sprite faces from OG/MB anymore, I don't think anything in TsukiRe contradicts what she was in the OG, only rounded her out better and gave her quirks more spotlight. So in the end I'm simply happy we're getting so much nice new fanart, JP artists/OG Cielfags tweeting their impressions was a lot of fun to read too the first two weeks. That is still a downgrade for a few reasons, though Koyama's weapon designs are probably an upgrade.
It may have to do with the whole age retcon shit, as she looks less mature that before, the skin cutouts are really dumb.
The eyes should be turquoise like before and she should have parted bangs instead of just pasting the same middle bangs as 80% of his other designs.
And for Takeuchi's lineart, Takao's simpler, more vibrant colouration is simply better.

Both are considered the best chuuni VNs so it's really no wonder why people compare them.
Also Dies Irae takes a lot of elements from Fate and Tsukihime, it's clear they were one of the main inspirations of Masada when writing it.
Also there used to be a lot of shitposting in both /jp/ and /vg/ around the time Dies Irae was translated because it was also getting an anime and a gacha, so everyone was memeing it was the underdog to Fate's endless success. Sadly (or not) it failed in almost every single front and the company behind it died.
It's way more chuuni and over the top than any Nasu work. Also is longer and I'd say the pacing can get kinda shitty, especially in the first half. But it's still pretty damn good, one of the best VNs out there.
Give it a try if you're feeling extra chuuni and/or nazi.
