TL notes are fine when absolutely needed. Something like "you're really Mr. Haraguroi (TL note: Mr. Haraguroi means Term used to describe someone who puts up an innocent front but is evil inside)" is an example of a terrible, terrible translation. I think Ixrec did a lot of that kind in Cross Channel, though it doesn't really matter too much considering Cross Channel has its own "translation notes" I guess. I hope he tones down on them in Inganock.

Anything but mecha is fine so it's not so much a vote for Swan Song as a vote against mecha. If the anti-mecha party is going with Swan Song so be it. It's one of my top choices anyway.

My experience is that the userbase of EGS has incredibly shitty taste. Any and all numbers from that site are worthless.

Carnival and Comu are no way in hell as good as Swan Song.
Not to say that these are bad, Carnival is stupid but entertaining, Comu is good though it has some shortcomings.
Mugen Kairou is very much a like it/hate it eroge but I wouldn't put it at the same level personally and I didn't play France Shoujo so I can't say whether it's as good or not

Saihate no Ima though is about as good, I loved it.

Yandere Translations has updated their page. After the overwhelming positive feedback from Sengoku Rance and Reika Mesuinu Choukyou placing second in their polls (just after Baldr Sky), they've announcing that they have decided to go ahead and translate Swan Song.

The story basis?

It is a snowing Christmas Eve… Everything seems so peaceful when a huge earthquake occurs. The earthquake causes the city to be in ruin, and the surviving people need to find ways to stay alive. Some go crazy and rob others, some cling onto God, some gather to live together. The 6 main characters meet at a church while they were trying to find shelter from the snow. What will they see and experience in this extreme situation…?
