shouldn't otaku be super big in usa because of the personal freedom, and almost wiped out in japan/china/korea because of their horrible collectivist socialist state of living there?

Then how the hell did otakuism not only become big in japan but also in fucking korea of all places?

Or maybe otakuism is connected to extreme studying culture and having intelligent parents and academical atmosphere in the neighborhoods and all that which we sure as hell don't?
