That's what i've been doing from the very beginning.
I don't think I can do better because I have only 2 C4 planes (Fulmar Recon and Seafire, no ranking so no regular corsair).
So only Kaga and Roy have a ABC and 234 combination. Zui and Taihou haver a AB234 with a +3 accuracy on the first slots for good measure.
The problem is that the Ne just soak damage like asswall even when I keep grinding my plane chrevons to max every time. meanwhile, even Strong FF have hard time to do a proper cleanup job.

Its been awhile but when ARs first came out you do need to do quests for them, so I guess it does depend on how many quests they've cleared out.

3 expeds with 3-4 DLC each makes 9-12. You can make do with 11 if you have Kinu which gives a free bonus DLC as her ability. Maybe 9 if you don't care to min-max and only slot 1 DLC carrier per exped and leveling other DDs.

Not like it matters too much, Akitsumaru is a better DLC farm anyway without BPs and iirc you'll pick some up eventually. And you're right, quests do give a lot of DLCs, but sometimes you might want to pick other things. Though they rarely have a major choice tbf.

For new players I'll still put ABKM over Yahagi and Yuubari though. Even if only for ease of access. Otoh I haven't sortied my married ABKM and dupe for who knows how long now so take from that what you will. But hey, she is a DLC carrier so you could throw her into expeds as a last resort.

Plan apparently seems to have been hoping that the American public would react to the defeats against Japan same way as Russians did during the Russo-Japanese war and thus the war would end with USA signing a peace deal mostly because the population at large wouldn't want to sent their sons, husbands, and brothers to die in Asia as part of the some colonial war. 6. Hope that this is enough to make US public to get angry enough at FDR and his administration for sending their relatives to die in Asia in defense of European imperialism and thus forcing them out of the war

Sure that plan also does have pretty high chance of failure (USN pulls out of Asia and finishes up its naval build-up -> Japan loses, USN wins or only marginally loses the battle in SEA -> Japan loses, American public doesn't get angry&demoralized and demand ending the war in protection of European colonies in Asia -> Japan loses) but at least it doesn't go its way to throw away every potential advantage Japan had and magnify their weaknesses like their IRL plan did.

Save them for events as there are regularly slow ships that need to be fast in order for routing. These ships rarely see use in regular maps, so it feels like a bit of a waste. If you clear at higher difficulties usually the map will reward you with the hole punches you need.
