I can't think of any I like. The mediums are fundamentally incompatible. This has appeared a lot more egregiously in novel-to-film where, conscious of this, they go so far as to change the name and often hide the source material in the credits. I don't think narration/monologue is the reason why, though. That stigma has always been misguided and they're often used to great effect in movies. You're transitioning from a medium that requires active participation to progress to one passively beamed into you. It's about the imagination element.

Not really. If it was, they would have included Shirou's monologues. UBW was really obvious with what's wrong with Shirou; you don't really see that in the anime except for some scenes. Also iirc the last stardust sequence was anime-original, as was most of Episode 25.
Personally, I liked the UBW anime and the HF trilogy. That said, I can't really call them satisfactory replacements for the VN, especially with Fate usually being skipped over by most anime-onlies. If you want the complete F/SN experience, it really is better to read the VN.

IMO, Zero had the best UFO anime adaptation. KnK was shit, UBW looked too ugly and was kind of boring compared to the VN. I didn't watch the HF films because I don't care about Sakura and I think the route is weak outside of Kirei and Illya, who were supposedly sidelined. I'd be interested in seeing what they could do with a Fate route TV anime though. There's a lot of potential there with expanding on the original by filling in the described but offscreen fights. Prillya had the best anime of any Fateshit in the end.

The KnK movies have goofy sound design and jarring tonal shifts between the action and suspense segments. Each episode also has a wildly different tone from the last. Albeit a problem with the source material, I don't know how someone could see Shiki's fake murder autism and how the nonsensical structure tries to obfuscate how undramatic it is and think this is totally okay. 5 and 7 are carried by their experimentation and heavy atmosphere standing out so hard.

Come to think of it, without getting into big rewrites, there are a lot of things to nitpick that seem irrelevant but are actually pretty significant like how bruises were mixed up with command seals in the first couple days or how Shirou uses an alarm clock.
