Playing Comyu and Muramasa now, currently in Miyuki's route of Comyu and the second chapter of Muramasa.
They are both pretty nice, admitedly Comyu is pretty different from what I was expecting, Muramasa though is pure Nitroplus goodness.

From Comyu, I expected a battle eroge.
There are certainly battles in it, but it's definitelly not a battle eroge.
It focuses more on what would happen if you were to give a big power to a group of people.
Each route focuses on a different aspect of this setting, be it the way they try to organize themselves with different factions fighting for dominance or the way they try to win power and money with this power, etc...

It's well done, it didn't really amaze me yet and I wouldn't put it at the same level as Ruitomo but it's constantly good enough, the writing is pretty good too.
Though I heard that the last route is great, looking forward to it.

I have been enjoying Sharin no Kuni more than I thought I would. I'm only on chapter 2 but I really like it. I have a handful of unfinished VN and even some nukige but Sharin finally got me to actually play something.

I think after I get a good long read with Sharin I will be able to play everything else I have put on the back burner.

Is the fan disc worth anything? If it is, that should get worked on too.

Right now, I'm playing Itaikena Kanojo for fapping, and Sekai to Shoujo to okashi no tsurugi for a slightly more plot based game.
I can rest assured that neither will be translated in the near future, so no casuals for me to worry about.

I agree that it is unacceptable to spoon feed people VNs with english translations, that the newfags need to start actually learning the language, but you guys need to realize that maybe not all of us have learned Japanese to the degree where reading a VN would be a satisfying experience rather than drudgery that requires a dictionary for Kanji, hell I have no idea when I'll be fluent enough to read a VN in Japanese without a massive headache.

I mean, VNs have been pretty well known since forever. Hell SA used to do their parody reviews of them back in like 1998, I wouldn't call them particularly obscure.

I have to say, the quality does seem to have improved greatly from the grand rapefests I played way back in the day, and I really like quite a few of the VNs I've played lately due to having actual plots and characters as opposed to body types and hair colors.

Currently Japanese otakus are having shitstorm and mass EGS downvoting for Comyu due to disappointment.
