News
-The first batch of Friend Fleets has been implemented. The next batch of Friend Fleet will be implemented next weekend.
-Yamakaze will receive a Kai-II at the end of the event.
-The Summer 2021 Event is underway. It is a small-scale Mediterranean vacation. The Extra Operation, "Operation Pedestal", has been implemented. There are 4 tags and 2 quests associated with E-3. The event is scheduled to last for 3 weeks after the EO implementation from 8/31.
-New ships in the Main Operation are the Japanese submarine tender Chougei (E-1 drop) and the Italian battleship Conte di Cavour (E-2 reward). The armored carrier Victorious is the E-3 reward and Kaiboukan No.30 is a drop.
-New equipment implemented is the 65mm/64 Single Rapid Fire Gun Mount Kai, the 305mm/46 Twin and Triple Gun Mounts, the 320mm/44 Twin and Triple Gun Mounts, and the SM.79, SM.79 bis, and SM.79 bis (Skilled) land-based bombers, and the Corsair Mk.II (Ace).
-Souya is available as a drop in E-1 for those who failed to get her.
-Kongou-Hiei Kai-IIC special attack can now trigger with Echelon and 2nd Cruising Formation.
-The July ranking rewards have been distributed. The new equipment is the Corsair Mk.II, Daihatsu (Panzer II/North Africa Spec), and the Prototype Jinpuu.
-UI Changes! The composition UI now allows to show tagged/untagged only or all ships. Tagged are orange, Untagged are Green, and All are gray.
-As of the Feb 28, 2020 maintenance, due to the ongoing DDoS attacks, measures have been taken that requires players from certain countries to use a Japanese IP address to connect to the Login servers. After getting to the start screen it's possible to disconnect from the VPN and continue playing without it. If you still encounter connection issues try clearing your cache and changing your time zone to JST. These countermeasures are temporary as of right now. EN EO now bypasses the block. Another possible workaround is using https://github.com/Tibowl/KCCacheProxy

So is this the worst event so far? I mean it's not the hardest (Summer 2015 still gives me nightmares), not the most retarded one, but amount of bullshit for a "small" event is ridiculous. I cleared every event since I joined, at least on Easy if I didn't have time or felt burned out, but this time I really have no motivation to clear it.

Honestly yeah it's definitely up there. Giving the abyssals opening torps was bullshit when they were first added but now giving them to Ne-Kai and on route nodes is just torture. That coupled with the dumb requirements, the lousy rewards, confusing plane bonuses, only Euros getting bonus with 7 locks, easily overlooked quests in the middle of maps, inflated hime HP, etc. Sending both supports and then getting told "go home" is an awful feeling especially when it happens repeatedly like in this event.
The thing about opening torps is that there is no counter to it aside from just killing them outright with the opening phases before they fire. With the M node this becomes next to impossible. The FF on node M isn't even a bandaid fix and arguably makes things worse if it eats more of your flamethrowers. They need to take a step back and think about how to make events enjoyable rather than as ball crushingly tedious and difficult as humanly possible.
