No, the Darwin's test event was in early August, the new one is a civilian defence of 3 players co-op. You can play it all the times you want but is limited to certain hours of the day to play it. It has two modes, one to farm these chips to reroll modules and ranked that does not requires energy play it and has limited rewards at the end of the season.

For me, it's not about if you have the option or not, it's about the primary use case.
If auto is significantly less competent or is otherwise limited somehow, it's just an auto option.
If there's not really any reason to ever switch it off, to the point that I sometimes forget the option is there, it's an autobattler.
Restricting to just "you are physically unable to manually control it" does not make for a very useful term, I find. I've seen it, but not very often.
Not to say I'll immediately write the game off just for that, some games make the rest interesting enough to hold my interest anyway. And sometimes some quick low-effort stuff is just what I'm looking for.

If a game has basically no scenarios where you actually need to take manual control, I'd define it as an autobattler.
Kancolle-type games are the main pure autobattlers. Blue Archive, GBF, Priconne and FGO are games where you're going to stick that shit on auto and 2x speed 99% of the time. And even though you can manually "play" them, I wouldn't class waiting for a skill to charge whilst your characters fight automatically as gameplay.

General news first, October's season will be themed around 13.
The 5th anniversary event will take place on the 19th December. Not sure what rona restrictions are like in Japan, but recent in-person events have been fine so this should be too. As for the Overlord collab, it will be available after maintenance tomorrow.
Ainz will be added as a gunner boasting high attack and defence with alright health (1.45/1.30/0.80 respectively) but slow movement speed.
His hero action teleports him over a distance that you can choose - you can teleport to higher elevations using this.
His hero ability negates the activation times for all cards, meaning things like ranged stuns or the 6 second shield will cast instantly.
His hero skill creates a large area surrounding him which, after 12 seconds, will kill anyone caught in it. I imagine shields will survive this.
