King Arthur, from Fate/Stay Night, a famous visual novel (famous for powerlevels and cooking, that is. ) In this continuity the person capable of drawing the Sword in Stone was a woman, and she crossdressed to lead her armies. Of course, she kind of failed and England got fucked over something fierce, so she sold her soul to the World (basically mother nature/spirit of Earth manifest) to have a shoot at redoing her life. Since World apparently can't change the past, this involves popping up wherever there is an artifact that can and trying to get it.

The artifact in question in the visual novel is Holy Grail (not THE Holy Grail, apparently every wish-granting artifact is called Grail for convenience, Church has identified hundreds of such false Grails. ), which is summoned after a ritual involving seven summoned spirits of past heroes fighting to death, with the catch being that the losers' souls are used to fuel the wish engine. Due to her contract, Arthur (under the archetype "Saber", set by the magicians who came up with the ritual to classify heroes to be summoned. Saber class is regarded as overall the most solid hero to summon, and is composed of heroes identified with the sword. Arthur for example used spears and daggers as well, but was obviously most famous for the Sword in Stone. ) pops up as well, under the command of a part time magician, full time delusional retard Shirou Emiya.

Fate/stay night isn't originally an anime.
People should stop talking about that one, imo the f/sn anime is even worse than the somewhat none-existant tsukihime one.
The only thing they did was bring up weird shtt or at least things that would become weird given one doesn't know about the source material, and they do it to such a extent that everything just becomes weird.
Tsukihime was however shorter, and it was at least a more fitting setting for "lol random I am going to hint at stuff but not saying anything" given the "Mystery" part of it all.

The Einzberns were the ones who created the actual grail.
The Einzberns have a quite funy Sorcery Trait

No, Arturia, being the King of Knights, is always of the Saber class. She has not always been the Saber in every Grail War, as Fate/Hollow Ataraxia explains with the dual nature of that Servant Saber. yes F/HA uses normal Arturia and Dark Arturia as the two versions, but that was mainly due to Avenger having limited knowledge of the 3rd Grail War and having to extrapolate a plausible version of Saber for Bazett.
