So, in my Anki deck, I have both the words 勘弁 and 容赦. I've been trying to take Cure Dolly's suggestion of slowly converting J-E cards into J-J cards, so I wanted to see if I could use 容赦 as a synonym for 勘弁. Turns out, the answer is a yesn't. On one hand, both have a meeting of "to permit someone's mistakes" (forgiveness), but beyond that, they each have a secondary meaning. For 勘弁 it's to permit someone's negligence, while for 容赦 it's sort of a "consider someone's circumstances and go easy on them for being new" kind of thing.
