雨トーーク has turned to shit because they focus on comedians from the 第七世代 too much (who are all about as funny as pancreatic cancer), ロンドンハーツ has completely lost its edge and ガキ使 is on autopilot (but still better than 95% of other variety).

Are all women sluts? As soon as she reaches legal age she does a sex scene.
Bad jokes aside, this little girl is really promising to be "one of the best actresses from her generation", right? The movie is "Asa ga Kuru" (True Mothers) by Naomi Kawase from last year, and besides the sex scene (without nudity) this was like a "coming of age" role for her, right? She played a young mother and underwent a great transformation from that "iconic" and unchanging look she had to something quite different. And her performance was good.

Hope she continues getting more interesting roles in interesting stories.

Got to be an exaggeration or the bar for the current generation of actresses is so low that she's considered one of the best. She's hot nonetheless, yeah. Goddamn I'm not gonna waste my time watching her works even if she's hot but she packs a face I adore.

The bar for japanese acting is generally low anyways.
What I mean is, she did a good job not only on this one, but also on the others that I watched (still didn't watched Shino) and because I like her I wish to see her succeeding to watch more movies with her in. I'll try to watch " Child of the Stars" next, if she went also on that one two then I think she is on the right track.

If your sole exposure into Japanese showbiz is through popular and/or young actors then I don't blame you for thinking that way. Besides that, Japanese acting might not translate well for people from other countries because of how different it is to the rest of the world. I heard some people complain about how overreactory their acting is but that's due to Japanese traditional theatre/kabuki style, it's a cultural thing. Such style lacks the realism factor you see in western movies so people who are so used to western movies will be put off by the Japanese acting style. That doesn't mean every Japanese actor follows the traditional style, I'm sure you'll find plenty of movies with that sort of acting but it's just not the cultural norm.

Marika Ito is cute, CUTE! If you anons don't want I take her them! (but she have the face of someone who will hit the wall early)
Still, I think it's and exaggeration to say that "she is bad at acting", she was really playing her character, wasn't meant to be realistic or oscar wining. I'm doubling down on Omimi ni, it's fun.

Is this really true? I watched some of his movies without paying attention that they where his and knowing about him. It was only after Ends of the Earth that I payed attention to his name and maybe I can feel what you said it's true? Months after I'm still so intrigued by that movie, it had an eerie mood in the background... I can't believe that everything the movie showed really happened, and that cursed sheep in the end... When I turn off the subs or don't actively watch the screen I can still understand the majority and follow the story but I'm missing major points too. That's a mistake. You don't learn kanji, you don't waste your time on learning kanji when you should focus on grammar. You'll naturally pick up kanji as you go if you focus on learning grammar and you'll have an all-around easier time committing new kanji to memory if you've a solid understanding of precisely how they're used in a sentence.

I don't know what you mean by "korean tv shit", never watched korean tv but they are all originally created by the very talented josei mangaka Higashimura Akiko. I myself don't like shoujo/josei shit but Higashimura's style and storytelling captured my heart (as far as the manga go). The drama versions are obviously not as good as the source material but they were fine if you ignore the fact that they're manga adaptations.
If you don't want SOLs made by and starred by women then check out dramas written by Kudo Kankuro. He made many popular dramas like Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Tiger & Dragon, Amachan and this year's winter drama Ore no Ie no Hanashi.

The stories and the productions are very high budget though, something you rarely see on national free TV channels. I don't see how having similar genres = boring. Genre doesn't matter, what matters is how good the story is, how good the acting is, how high the budget is and how great the production is. WOWOW almost always deliver on those departments.

I've never read or watched Kinnikuman (because Tiger Mask exists and no other wrestling manga/anime will top it) but I'm gonna watch this drama. Specifically because Sono Sion is one of the actors.

Is there anywhere good to get the TV show? Watched the movie last night, it was fantastic.
