On the note of all that, Beasts are probably a Fate-ification of a very early databook concept in reference to akuma/demons (I suppose they're localized as daemons now). There was briefly mentioned in one of the Character Material encyclopedia entries for demons the class of primordial daemons, which were of the greatest scale possible and derived from life processes that are ancient and inalienable, comparable in power to Arcueid (explicitly), but are no longer present in the world. Daemons are derived from human desires/prayers/curses which they cannot help but wish for, even if in doing so they sin; Angra Mainyu also reflected this concept (especially in Hollow Ataraxia), while Kiara is asserted to have become a daemon or something infinitely close to one in CCC; lo and behold, they're associated with Beastdom. Now look at Tiamat, a corrupted primordial goddess; both she and Kiara derive a lot aesthetically and thematically from Angry Manjew. It's easy to figure how the Beast of 666 fits into that arrangement. Beasts are derived from the foundational sins of humanity which inescapably arise from their sapience and free will.

It all fits together perfectly well. Beasts are, frankly, one of the saving graces of F/GO, even if at the end of the day all of the sins they represent are just derived from the misguided motivations of past Nasuverse villains to the degree that sometimes they just ARE those villains.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

In the first place, it's not even that the vast majority of characters in recent Fate releases are even all that powerful or overwhelming in any real sense, it's just that they're said to do ridiculous things which contradict with prior lore, or they're given EX rank stuff which isn't even as powerful as the original EX rank stuff to the degree that the parameter no longer even seems to mean anything but "arbitrarily great." Actually, that's exactly how it's portrayed, because rather than being something that can no longer be effectively measured by the system, it's just treated as the highest grading for your RPG abilities in games like F/GO.

There's nothing special about it anymore. There's a lot of stuff that just isn't special anymore, because more recent Fate stuff goes out of its way to focus primarily on the Servants, when the Servants were originally something kept in reserve and treated with reverence.

Here's the thing. If current Fate material has left Tsukihime behind on account of its scale, it's also left the original Fate behind. F/SN has enormously more in common with Tsukihime than F/GO. Back in the day, they really weren't so divergent, and everyone believed they were outright part of the same world and chronology, and why wouldn't they be? They worked on the same mechanics and referenced the same concepts. Nasu hadn't divided all of the properties up into disparate worldlines yet, because there was absolutely no need to. You know what both Tsukihime and F/SN also share? Heartfelt drama from the perspective of a modern world daily life that has been invaded by the supernatural. That's one of the draws of both stories - their good drama and grounded, detailed characters.

And that's the real difference between contemporary Fate projects and Tsukihime. Not powerlevels, but presentation and depth.

-Super inconsistent quality of art. Takeuchi still being Takeuchi. It's the best thing he's done in years but it's still mediocre overall and that stings. The sprites are especially inconsistent in quality.
~The remake designs have grown on me, but overall there are still some highly questionable decisions I feel. Noel is just lame and doesn't visually work in this universe for me.
+The integration of the original designs was cute and not badly done. Good fanservice.

~The new characters aren't bad but some of them feel like padding.

I went in expecting the worst, and what I got was a mostly good experience with some nitpicks. And that's what has me so conflicted. After the hype died down I couldn't help but go, "Oh. That's it???" Arc's route for example still has a lot of the same problems as the original, where it feels like the high point is in the middle, not the finale. Roa is still woefully weak as an antagonist. And the ending still sucks. Is it better than the original route? Yeah, Nasu's writing skills have improved a lot and there's more to sink your teeth into this time, but I still feel like there was a lot of good changes they could have made and just didn't. Weirdly enough, I still feel like the manga does Arcueid's route the best, but of course the remake is greatly elevated by production values that the manga simply doesn't have. So, yeah, weird feelings. I like it but I also feel like there should have been more. If you were to ask me, "was it worth the wait" I would probably say "no." Maybe my answer will change when they release the other 3 (4?) routes.

From there it is the typical journey through the singularities where they both learn to become better people as their adventures go and they bond with various Servants and get to know one another and become friends and stuff and the final fight is a FUCK YOU DAD I love myself now and have friends now too.
Other details I've thought about would be Olga summoning Evil aligned Servants only so it fits with her dream in Lostroom.

Arc has a lot of inconsistencies between her sprites, and also the sprites and the CGs. For example, she has about 6 different boob sizes, and her hair changes a lot between sprites in CGs, in some it looks thin and too short, in others it looks ultra poofy kinda like her old design, some of it is just motion differences but a lot of it isn't. Any of the DAAs who are magi or have similar abilities to manipulate reality, given the proper tools and opportunities, seem to have the ability to snowball out of control and become extremely major threats. For example, TATARI was able to replicate Marble Phantasm to a certain degree during Melty Blood; in Actress Again, Dust of Osiris was able to use this to create a "World Egg" which, after melting down enough victims into a Philosopher's Stone, would be able to cause a world-ending cataclysm by essentially imposing a reality that Osiris conceived of upon the planet. In Aoko and VSion's routes, they both encounter Roa, and in both cases, Roa expresses his intention of eating them so he can gain control of the Fifth True Magic and TATARI respectively. Although most Magi are not remotely on the level of a Servant, there is an army of them, and a handful of them DO have relatively comparable power or could still fight against them to a certain degree (ala how Rin's strongest jewels could still damage Heracles), and among those magi, the elite of the elite really are bordering on the level of a Servant (Lorelei Barthomeloi, for example), who has fought DAAs.

All of these factions are known to hold troves of magical artifacts of potentially devastating scale and power in stock. For example, the Burial Agency has converted a sealed DAA, El Nahat, into a weapon.

As you can see, there's plenty of ways of looking at it.

Arc probably has a reason to appear in Far Side now that a Sacchin route is confirmed and the original plan is she helps Shiki protect Sacchin. AoG magic is built around Mystery, True Magic (which is modern magic) is Root hax.

Hrm, I'm not sure you entirely grasp what I was getting at, because in a general sense, even though I described the basic conditions the characters from the original urban fantasy setting could beat a Beast (specifically thinking of Goetia and Tiamat), they're still overall at a disadvantage compared to Heroic Spirits (let alone Grand Servants) and the situation would be just as desperate and precarious as by default, if not more.

Although, frankly, besides there not being a good vector by which Goetia could manifest in the modern day beyond the lineal curse we see him resort to that he planned well in advance, I think Goetia didn't attack humanity directly specifically because he probably thinks he'd lose. It's the very same reason the DAAs themselves don't operate out in the open as asserted in Tsukihime: even as these bizarre monstrosities that have shirked off the mundane concept of death, don't die when you kill them, and can't be put down by normal means, they would get dogpiled and defeated -somehow-. There's just too much going against them.

Like I said from the start, it's entirely circumstantial. These (seemingly) miraculous conditions or similar would STILL need to be met in the modern day. But if these factions really put their mind to it, went all out, and didn't care what they had to give up in the process, they could accomplish that.

But it would be fucking war.

Lahmu are significantly stronger than your average dead apostle, if not as clever, and there's hordes of them. If you get eaten by the mud, you'll become one of them. These creatures are far beyond the most advanced chimeras reasonably conceivable in the modern age, and this is to say nothing of the Bel Lahmu or Goetia's Pillars, the latter of which all have numerous unique powers we're not privy too (and, granted, individuality that led them to collapse as a unit upon their central intelligence's defeat).

In Prelude, Lorelei is described as leading a brigade of the most elite magi against a vampire who is a candidate for becoming a DAA (partially for political reasons, since he's meant to replace Nrnqsr and... he no Nrvnqsr) and they estimate they're capable of carpet-bombing his fortress into dust and wiping out his entire clan in fifteen minutes. That's the best of the best, however. The Mage's Association is going to need multiple functional brigades made of the fully matured heirs of established lineages, all of them holding nothing back. Not just Clock Tower, but Atlas and the Wandering Sea too. They're going to have to lift Sealing Designations to get renegade magi to fill the ranks. They'll all be blowing years, decades, centuries worth of resources far beyond even stuff like Rin's best jewels from F/SN, using every accumulated source of maryoku, every prana furnace, every mystic code heirloom, EVERYTHING they have collectively brought to bear just keep up. Even then, many of them will die. Very possibly most of them will die. Many of them will not succeed and the Beast's force will gain ground, only to be held back by the survivors. The modern military might even get involved if this went public - not that they would do shit except slow the Beast's forces down.

And that's just the minor fights that are going on to distract the Beast's lesser aspects while a primary force of the best of the best (probably the Burial Agency, mages around the level of Lorelei or Touko in her prime, possibly Aoko - fuckers like that) is confronting the Beast itself, themselves using every resource at their disposal just to survive and find some way - ANY way - to win.

But they could do it. Even if it ended the current age of mystery on account of the crippling losses, they could win. They could find a way. Which is kind of the point of Beasts, no? They are the ultimate evil that humanity must confront simply for the sin of being human, but precisely for that reason, humanity will almost certainly beat them in the end. I mean, unless the species has degenerated ala Tsuki no Sango.

Also, in Tiamat's case, a lot of her most problematic abilities counter Heroic Spirits in particular. When all you have on hand that can do shit to her in the first place is Heroic Spirits, that's a problem, but it's not not an issue for living human beings, so there's that to note. There's a lot of factors to consider, which is why I said there's plenty of ways of looking at it. Ultimately what I'm saying is, it's plausible. It would not be simple or easy, though. Beasts are beyond horrifying, or at least they're supposed to be. That's why I fucking hate Jaguar Man, holy fuck. F/GO is shit, but everything to do with Tiamat was fucking marvelous... and then Jaguar Man showed up and made a farce of the whole thing. jfc, Nasu.

See, in that theoretically scenario where a fully-fledged Beast is attacking humanity - which, again, is mostly for the sake of talking about how these characters fighting another group of characters they were never intended to meet might go down - all I was thinking was that Goetia or Tiamat's goal would probably be to convert humanity into a new form based on their predilections. They are really fucking petty and lame. Goetia's and Tiamat's tragedies of love turned sour and becoming monsters that destroy the very thing they want to protect (and cause them anger/pain) was really good as a thematic enemy (even if the execution of part 1 was subpar at times, their concepts were great). After them, every Beast so far is some upstart that want to gain power usually for petty reasons (Bitch wants to be a new legend that isn't Amatarasu). Maybe U Olga will be different. But really ruined what Tiamat and Goetia (even Fou with his 'defeat') had. Those two didn't become Beasts to get power, they became Beasts when they showed their fatal love toward humanity. It wasn't a planned action, or a goal, they simply got it when they pursued some other goal.
