They fucked up by releasing the game with less content than RO1 had at Alpha. Yes. RELEASING.
On top of that, the original RO was still going strong and almost no one switched from the original for good. Seeing as it was no longer sprite-based it lacked that RO charm. There was no reason to play RO2 over any other generic Korean MMO, so no one did.

Wizards are awesome when you have a decent party.

The Acolyte-Priestess-High Priestess-Arc Bishop tree is highly fappable. As with the Thief-Sins and Merchant-Alchemists.

Self heal, huge HP/SP, monster tank (Defender, Auto Guard, Reflect Shield, Sacrifice), massive DPS (Grand Cross, Chain Shield, Maytr's, ASPD + Bash/Holy Cross), top movement speed (Lawl Pecopeco).

I had a Vanilmirth that was so cool, it had off the chart INT growth and decent all other stats, the only thing it sucked in as LUK but then LUK does nothing.

It was awesome, I don't even need to do anything when i fight wizards. Instant counter their casting with bolt, 2 melee and they're dead.

Oh no, I was talking about Pokemon's RNG. If I recall, it interested a mathematician, so he caught the same fixed Pokemon repeatedly for about 400 times, recorded its stats (which use 6 unshown values varying from 1 to 31, called IVs) for each time, graphed and analyzed it and figured out how the RNG worked. People then successfully managed to get good Pokemon by abusing the RNG, though I don't know the details of how they managed to do that.
