I find seriously dumbfounding that people would pour their money into five different versions of the same single without letting out a single peep just because condensing the meager bonus content into a single release.
This reminds me of a similar story: when Blizzard decided that they would split Starcraft 3 for the sake of maximizing sales and profits at the expenses of their customers, fans declared they crossed the line and some preemptively announced they would boycott the game. Are you telling me Morning Musume fanboys would accept to be swindled by the music labels so wholeheartedly?

And with regards to the analogy, as inappropriate as it was, it was just exemplifying of the fact that no other fanbase would lap up such a glaring swindle so readily, to shut up any possible apologist asserting that their own behavior is only natural. Do you have better examples to offer?

Its capitalism, they are called choices,
there are only 4 different versions if you can even read properly. The DVD combines all of the different PV cuts and adds making of footage.
Again, if you had any frame of meaningful reference you'd realize that split single releases have been going on in Japan for a very long time, especially in the idol industry.
Now go away.

Right, right. I don't think a lot of young people 4chan users even think about physical releases anymore or the history of releases.

But that is a discussion for /mu/ if that actually even occurs there.

Even though it's not necessarily true that the more copies the higher the quality (I personally consider Love Machine a pile of shit), considering that idol music is supposed to be geared towards SELLING as much as possible using mass appeal as a lever more so than anything else you still have to wonder why an group with a market as large as the whole Japanese territory and a marketing department sparing no expense can't pull six figures sales anymore for 6 long years.

Hint: idol groups are there to SELL. If they don't sell is because there's something wrong, either in the marketing or the group proper. Don't even start comparing niche professional singers to idols, who as part of their job are supposed to catch the attention of as many people as possible.

First see hivemind mentality, second, stop exaggerating your points, Tsunku if anything has scaled in almost all of the spending for the last couple years.
>supposed to be geared towards SELLING as much as possible using mass appeal
You are saying this, what I'm saying is it a robotic and narrowminded view to only follow a group based on artificial quotas established from changes in the music industry.
Do we want to see our idols sell more yes, do we want more people to get involved, yes. Do we need to set numbers in the sand to dictate our level of fanhood and likelihood of buying a single, no, this shit is a Japanese fallacy. But it makes sense for them, because the industry eats alive so many new artists that it almost makes sense for the population to instill the exact same industry quotas when approaching music.

Or perhaps people move on in the idol industry at a quicker half life than other types of music. And I love how some rival idol groups like to treat Musume by belittling them and re-writing their history.
Musume is an important idol institution and will live on because they have a progressive approach in both adding new members and approaching the music style itself and have an esteemed past filled with esteemed OG's.

Selling tactics are used all the time in the idol industry, I refuse to condemn grass root campaigns. If you have an issue with these type of things, ask management of AKB why fans need to buy singles to vote whether certain songs appear on album or certain members will appear at concerts, that is more disturbing.
>I'm afraid to say that the only one acting woefully avoidant is H!P
If anything, it is a respectful decline of butting heads against such an agressive idol atmosphere at the moment. But you have a point in that nobody should pretend indignation for it. I, for one, don't.

The point is, the management is using mutli purchasing to determine the "fan control" of management. They are putting a price on the internally created group structures and self created lack of member coverage. Now they are doing it with the songs themselves.
Sure its nice to have a voice in your idol group but putting a price on the operation of the group is not right.

>This is all of UFA's own making
While they are certainly responsible for catering to a heavy wota population, they are not responsible for the constant and easily convenient attacks that rival idol groups utilize to bolster themselves and their own self interest.

>the combination of scandal outbreaks and lack of outlets where to show the girls' true colors
As if you really believe that it was just a few scandals that resulted in punishment that lead to some graduations but that was years ago. The rival groups capitalized on the anger of some of the fans and turned them against their own group and they spent years kicking and stereotyping the Nation's idol group in an Otaku nerd fanbase. I'm not a retard, I can tell that there are certain idol fans that are way beyond reality but to assume the competition didn't have a hand in kicking around their name for their own self gain is retarded.
Get to the top on your own merits, not on lam-preying and bully tactics.

And if you ever read the Akb minions and their posts it is always complaining about Musume's tactics in selling singles, are they so near sided that they're entire idol groups existence was structured upon sell tactics and trolling? Tell those new fans to do some history reading.

They decreased when the didn't have a gimic attached the single but you can thank their gravure shoveling tactics to be really rubbing off. And I'm sure their overpriced military PV has a pretty good hand in it as well.

I have no problem with Idol selling strategies like handshake events to meet with the idols but to come here and act like your shit doesn't stink is just downright arrogant.

I don't know too much about how AKB48 works but I don't think their gimmicks are necessarily a bad thing. They certainly use their profits to build upon themselves. And it's working since it seems like they're getting more "popular". The whether the ratio is amongst themselves or in attracting a new audience is for you wotas to argue about.

The one thing that pisses me off about Upfront is that they hoard all the money they get and put out just enough effort to save on expenses. I remember reading that they make more profit than Avex, though I'd assume Avex cashflows are several times higher. It's like UF is milking their idols incase of their demise. "Make sure we get enough money so we can keep them alive for another 2 years". And I believe this results in talent such as Maki and Aya basically giving up. I'll even include Koharu in this category since she believes she'll have a better future outside of the group.

Oh, don't feed me the cordiality bullshit because I won't eat it.
Last year you scoffed at it because it didn't sell as good as Morning Musume, now that they do and you're just stomping your feet out of anger.
And nothing will ever bring you to give other groups a chance. Why? Because of your retarded sense of loyalty of course. I am a Morning Musume fan, so I can't say anything good about rival groups out of the principle that they I am an MM fan, so I HAVE to hate the rest, I CAN'T be fans of both, I refuse to even hear a single song or watch a program, that's heresy and I'd go to Hell for this.
Isn't it ironic how the only situations where this with-them-or-against-them mentality is tolerated if not encouraged are when the subject matter is something so extremely shallow, childish and unsophisticated to not warrant walls of text at all (i.e. console wars, idols, religious extremism)?

>the management is using mutli purchasing

Stopped reading here.
So apparently Morning Musume releasing five versions with differing content is fair game, but them adding a handshake ticket (rather than a lottery ticket for a ticket to the handshake event) or a form to send in is wrong.
If anything as an outsider I can see both groups are doing it. However, one is beating the other at its own game, and since the one winning isn't your fave it's agreeable to frown upon it.
So not only are you astoundingly hypocrital, but you also seem to hate competition.

No disagreements here, I wonder what he is saving the money for, to launch a major offensive perhaps? I don't think Tsunku would go out quietly lining his pockets. The whole company should be beyond rich from all the profits of the helloshop merchandise. I think he is saving for a rainy idol day.

>And I believe this results in talent such as Maki and Aya basically giving up.
Its more complicated with Maki, with the troubled family really hurting her and the scandal rumors.
Ayaya decided to change the type of music she wanted to release which her own choice, it didn't seem to go that well with her fanbase.

Because it wasn't an idoling troll wandering in complaining about multiple versions because they have no case in that argument.

>I think this is just your problem.
You're wrong, its as simple as that. The Akb trollbase lives all over the 2ch Musume fanbase. And then through the most extreme of trick tactics attempts to detach itself from his creator and tries to point its finger at its mother.
>Greek goddesses on the Moon have to do with manpower,
Metaphorical representation of idols.

I think you have missed the point of the discussion by a mile and you believe in earnest that I am not aware of this.
The question at hand was quite the opposite, how does this disprove that Hello!Project fanboys are in denial about their own buddies doing just the same? Maybe you should read the thread again.

The question was not the same thing in reverse, I think not, you re-read the thread.

>Only AKB fanboys buy multiple copies, Hello!Project ones buy one each as the upstanding individuals they are. The international community will not tolerate this!
>I think both do, and to about the same degree. It's embedded into the fanboy behavior after all, so getting upset because the other does too is stupid as well as hypocrital, and proves you can't stand competition.
>No, it's untrue.
>Follows photos of stacks of H!P stuff bought en masse. Point proven.

Plot:

In order to protect the country's citizens, by using supernatural powers, the secret government esper research organization known as "Kokueken" was created. Here, it is where children with esper potentials are gathered, and they are trained into full fledged espers. Espers trained here are then secretly send into society where they must use their powers to help people and the world. An apprentice esper of this organization, Mano Erina, alias "Hanbun Esper (Half Esper)", is a girl full of curiosity. Naturally, if one can not become a full fledged esper, it is impossible to be sent into society. With her strong will, "I want to leave here, and go see the world!", using her esper powers, she escaped Kokueken's facility and disappaeared!
That's right! "Hanbun Esper (Half Esper)" Mano Erina can not fully control her own powers. She is a half trained esper with incredible power potentials. Fearing what kind of power could be unleashed from Mano Erina's emotions, it is giving the organization's research chief a big headache. As they seek her whereabouts...

Hmm, I think you got the wrong thread, Ai-fag, even if all of MM is going to be in the drama, they're just there as Special Guests.
Also, since it's Mano, MM, s/mileage, other names, it's most likely going to be a small budget show, with hilariously tacky j-dorama-level special effects.
