Did you know that Flan and Remi are devils? So their damage is reduced by the Story Card Great Unmoving Library. However they don't have their damaged reduced by the Story Card Western Alchemy Crystal, that reduces the damage of Devils.

Eientei is the only one I can think of that would have two damage reductions on it that would apply to two different properties on a single character, but global doesn't have Eirin. Garden of the Sun might work, but despite being Yuka's Garden I don't think she is actually a character that has the "those with a connection to the sun" property. Also not in Global.

I was thinking along the lines of trying a card with one damage reduction and then comparing it to the numbers gathered from the two damage reduction cards.

Since these cards only reduce damage received from units with those attributes (if I'm reading them right), what matters more is who is available to fight to test them.

Eirin from the Prologue might work for a test of how these cards stack. The story card Netherworld reduces damage of those connected to the moon (1 damage reduction effect). You could then compare those numbers with the Eintei card (2 damage reduction effects). Both of these cards' effects work at the same percentage. Unfortunately my weakest unit is too high level to collect any real data here, as everything is just 1 or 0 damage.

The lack of the exchange button has made me miss out on at least 2 days worth of cubes.

I shoot didn't even remember Eirin being in the prologue. Forgot how ass the game is with 2x skip animations. Also no quit option so I have to hard quit each time and reload the App. It is going to take a while to get any meaningful data between all that and the fact I have to use a support SC on Reisen #2 since she is the only character I have at a reasonably low level (5) and her attack SC still 1 shots Eirin. Luckily I can just record all this and speed it up.

Thanks I still have a lot more clean up to do, and was trying to organize the sections alphabetically but the kitten decided that it was dinner and then play time so I called it a day. I used the old data for Meiling, but it will have significant changes when her update comes. Also Kosuzu, Suwako, and Kanako might need some fine tuning since I was using altema for their data before I saw Gamepress uploaded their shit stuff. Altema's page for Kanako is broken and you can't open it up to look at the bullet details so I had to go off of the descriptions. I am also trying to figure out what to do with the Gensokyo and Youkai properties. There is no way to just make a huge list and have that be okay. It might be better just to make their entries exclusionary.

I only made it to floor 18 of the Scarlet Tower because I was really tired/depressed the past two weeks. Am I fucked?

It looks like there's going to be a 1 wave fight against Sanae, Suwako, and Kanako. The Hakurei Shrine and Trademark story cards should work for comparing one damage reduction effect (Shrine Maidens, 20%) to two damage reduction effects (Wind Priestesses & Living Gods, 20%) against Sanae.

I never touched Flandre because of the obvious reason, and never even considered her for use in the Tower. However I just realized that she is actually pretty decent for cheap unit in a Yang team. A 6 spirit Flan with her first skill unlocked can add a massive amount of damage to a single target. Place Flan in the vanguard, use her first skill at level 10, then rotate her out. 3 turns of 3 ranks of Yang down on a single target that your entire party can use and 1.0 Pw for whomever she is being exchanged with. You don't have to worry about basically anything else and your team has a nice head start on burning someone down in the tower with +90% to all they Yang attacks. Might be worth it to unlock her first skill and start leveling it once Maintence ends.

Remi is a decent addition to a Yin team when you need fire. Hell, make her Flandre's rearguard and you can alternate her spell cards to extend the Yin down to 5 ranks, throw in her skill, and you have 7. Factor in her Yin Atk Up and Acc buff and Remi hits hard as fuck in addition to providing great support for the party. The downside is he single element, but if you are targetting a specific enemy it is less of an issue.

Looking forward to Suwako. She is a good alternative for a Yin based Def debuff and provides excellent Water/Wood coverage. She doesn't have the Accuracy of Remi so you will need external support or cards to cover for what Remi innately has, but the elemental coverage should more than make up for it.

Yes. Here is Eirin with 9690 max HP paired up with Kanakp who has 9825 HP. Eirin has taken damage and is down to 5651 HP. Now she uses her first skill. It heals 2907 HP, bringing her back to 8558 HP. That 2907 is exactly 30% of just Eirin's HP with no extra HP from Kanako being used at all.

She is a single target nuke. Those type of characters are nice to have for Tower or for events that have waves with just 1 boss character in them. I usually don't use Suwako for grinding though because the jap version has a lot of characters who are better at that.

Suwako technically has the stronger LW on the card screen (1800 CP vs only 1700 CP for Kasen) because of her higher natural attack and stronger attack buff skill but Kasen using her last word gives her 10000 buffs which instantly make up for that.

One has 2 Yin Def Down on a card, 3 Yin Atk UP on a skill, 1.0Pw on skill, and 1 Yin UP per boost level.
The other has 2 Yin/Yan Atk UP 2 Crit Atk Up on both spell cards, 3 Crit Acc UP 2 Crit Atk Up 2 Yin/Yang Atk UP on LW, 2 Ying/Yang Atk UP 1.0 Pw UP on skill, 3 Crit Acc UP on Skill, and 1 Acc Up per boost level.

Even if you take the time to build up max ranks of all available Buff/Debuffs it is pretty clear that the second is mechanically superior. Atk UP/Def DOWN modification experiences extremely small returns on investment after 10 cumulative stacks meaning that Suwako is pretty much dead ending at roughly 300% damage increase without elemental advantage and without a killer target. Meanwhile using Kasen full kit results in 10+ ranks of Atk UP/Def DOWN modification without even needing Def DOWN plus she ends up with 6 ranks of Crit Acc UP meaning she a ~44% on each bullet in her LW and she has 10 Ranks of Crit Atk UP meaning that her Crits are going to have and additional +400% damage. Oh, and she isn't going to miss a single shot with her 3 Ranks of Acc UP and 75% base hit rate. But wait, there's more. Kasen also has Elastic on 4 of the bullets in her barrage which causes those bullets to have a scaling Crit Acc UP buff based on Agility relative to the target. So, depending on the the target's Atk, you are looking her 20% base Crit Acc on 4 of those Bullets scaling up to 25% base Crit Acc which means for 4 of those bullets the modified Crit Acc becomes 50% with that 400% multiple to her Crit damage

It even on auto-pilot, when only skills, ability, and LW are considered, Suwako's 5 ranks in Atk Up results in a 150% damage modification to be applied to her high base Yin Atk stat for her LW. Meanwhile Kasen's LW has a 120% damage modification with a modified 44% Crit chance on both bullets (with the first bullet potentially scaling to 50%) and a 400% multiplier applied to Crits. Oh, and Kasen's will have 100% from her the 2 ranks of Acc UP provided by her skill and ability.

None of this even factors in cards, or the fact that Kasen can slot in a Eating Contest to give herself 60 extra Yin Atk stats and a 45% buff to one of the two bullets in her barrage while Suwako needs to slot in a Acc Up card to get a 100% hit rate. By the way, there is no Acc UP card with Yin Atk stats so she can't even juice a little extra power.

For those who were wondering about the Null descriptor in regards to barrier status effects. The use of Null in a character ability denotes a nullification of the negative status effects of the corresponding barrier status. However it does not render the character immune for the barrier status itself. The barrier status will remain unless the barrier is expended, the status is expired, or the barrier is healed thus making it possible for the enemy to break the barrier status with the corresponding barrier status break ability.
The only two characters in Global with the Null descriptor are Lily for freeze and Sakuya for paralyze.

For those curious about the status effects associated with each barrier status
Burn: Yin Atk/Def is debuffed 12.5% multiplicatively with each layer. Damage is proced at the end of every turn. Damage can not take a friend below 1 hp.

Freeze: Agi is debuffed.

Paralyze: Eva is debuffed 25% multiplicatively with each layer. There is a chance the friend will be stunned at the beginning of the turn.

Poison: Yang At/Def is debuffed 12.5% multiplicatively with each layer. Damage is proced at the end of every turn. Damage can not take a friend below 1 hp.

Blind: Acc is debuffed

I am working on a more detailed explanation of damage adjustment that will be posted on the mechanics section of the wiki later. It tentatively appears that it is possible to surpass the +300% adjusted damage softcap imposed by the +10 limit on Yin/Yang At/Def UP/DOWN ranks through the use of barrier status Burn and Poison. As each successive layer of buff/debuff is additive, the status debuffs are multiplicative, and the two types are treated as seperate elements in the damage adjustment calculation it would appear that it is possible to exploit this to exceed the x4.0 final damage adjustment limitation.

With the help of Maribel and Renko, the MC is connecting the pieces together with the events ocurred in their AU to solve the incident.
