I'm pretty sure you need to get Agireda's first upgrade event before you kill the first Shimazu brother. If she's not at the right level, then that flag never gets set.

Just FYI, as someone who just tried to loosely follow that "4 fans in 30 turns" walkthrough, it relies on a buttload of RNG stuff, at least one thing (hot springs location) you can't find out until around turn 15 or so. Plus some of the other save scumming is almost impossible. 31 turns is pretty easy, but I still need to hit some dungeons for items that I 'should' have if I followed that guide.

The problem with that is that point runs is that you end up using a lot of captured generics because so many uniques start with passive skills so can't get End-Game points. Point runs are mostly going to be just finishing a route ASAP followed by about 9 turns of using the +3 affection bonus to clear as many characters as possible.

Judging by the health, I imagine he used Yamagata to kill off the tactician, because that's the only real threat to everyone in the back, and then used miko storm and poisoning. Peasants have no real power for all their numbers, so it's not like they could kill anything.

As for fighting Mouri, he'd just have to use lots of footsoldiers and Natori\Chinu. The footsoldier on the mouri side will waste their time guarding, and the monks will waste their time dispelling his guard. The only danger is the ninja unit. Once Poisoning/Miko storm 2 is off he wins by battle rating.

A question about the enemy troop scaling, which troops can i safely let increase in size and which ones should i bog down? I read that you should cap them at each 500 step because of the increase power they take, the enemy forces become bigger. The enemy already has up to 1400 footmen in some groups, though attackers usually come in smaller ones. I once had senhime at 1400 foot soldiers, did the game scale up the enemy foot soldier toop size because of that?

This, but Yamagata did use his Battle Result Up ability after Onslaughting the Tactician. Yamagata also had the -100 damage armor equipped, so that took off a lot of damage, and the tactician decided to shoot at Chinu instead of removing his buffs. Once the peasants were down to ~4-5k though, they could only barely damage him, so the battle was basically over after Chinu's poison. I didn't even mean to win that fight, I just wanted to test if Ran would be able to keep up the shields.

And now in my new timeline, I somehow managed to get all three sex items from the Kachikachi dungeon (only 3 item floors), so in the new timeline, I hit 161 Sat on turn 30, thus technically surpassing the "4 flags in 30 turns" extreme walkthrough by 1 sat. Booyea.

Your footmen do not count for scaling.
Outside of NP, the opponent scales when your troops hit certain numbers (like going over 500).
Also, if you just sit on your ass, opposing nations manually increase their numbers.
An idea to avoid f=urther scaling is to keep units below a certain number till you have enough money to make a sizeable change.
Give huge numbers to your most powerful units outside of footmen to make the most use.

Since you have him no matter what, making him useful with minimal resources is good deal.
Even in 2 star, he is a rape machine.
Only in 5 star, he is lackluster, but turning him durable and capable of damage helps more than having him waste.
Unless you are unlucky and for the first 40 turns or so, you get no attack or defense textbooks.
Happens sometimes.
If you can do it quickly, fix him up.
You should deploy him for the extra affection cleared units get at least, no matter the difficulty, making him durable pays off.

The problem with this order, is that for stats going from 7 to 8, his NP cost goes up.
While with elite troops, it does not go up.
Thus, he gets Masamune like stats with the same NP cost.
Hence the specific strategy and order(rushing an affection bonus and natori to be at 7).
