This is a PSA: There have been reports of a few wild Seiga Yukkuris in the nearby area. Seigas are rare parasitic Yukkuris which have the peculiar ability to animate deceased Yukkuri corpses. While most are solitary in nature, and prefer mastering their ability to create a rare Yoshika Yukkuri, some more ambitious ones will use this ability to to overwhelm and control an entire clan of wild Yukkuri. While not at all a threat to humans, the stale and rotten Yukkuri corpses can make other Yukkuris uneasy at their sight, and overwhelm the normal Yukkuri.

Some have argued to let the Seigas continue on to help curb the stray population, and also due to the fact most of their corpses will eventually dissolve after a while, the Seigas are able to manipulate them to topple trash cans for food, attack pet yukkuri, and even break into homes. Current extermination efforts are struggling thanks to the intelligence of these Yukkuris rivaling that of a Patchouli.

It is advised that until the parasitic Seigas are subdued to keep all pet Yukkuris inside and out of view from windows. Thank you.

Right. As I've stated before, Human and animal contains water, merabolic waste, urea, damaged red blood cells, various microbes, excess ions, and other things. It serves to expel certain excesses of materials and waste, alongside excess water.

In contrast, while Yukkuri pee is nasty to Yukkuris, it is only sugar and water. It serves to maintain a sugar-water gradient, which is why Yukkuris may seem to pee immediately after eating/drinking. There is nothing actually bad in Yukkuru pee, and you could drink it, not knowing it was pee, thinking you'd been given sugar water.

It seems like the best strategy for dealing with wild yu populations would be to offer to take them to an easy place, then neuter them and resettle them in some kind of yukkuri community. They get to live a happy life, and after one lifespan, they are completely eradicated.

It is inhumane to perform mass castration or sterilization of stray animal populations.

A better way would to be allow for the construction of a sanctuary where stray Yukkuri's can be afforded a similar quality of life comparable to those of pets. They'll have all the Mister Food they could ever want, all the water they could drink, and all the medical/sanitation services necessary to ensure they have a healthy, easy life. This is analogous to real-life no-kill sanctuary ranches.

A better means of curbing the number of future strays would be to mandate significantly harsher punishments on inaction and Yukkuri abandonment. The fines for abandoning a Yukkuri should be in the high-hundreds and into the thousands, plus community service. Cities, towns, and suburbs that use elimination methods to curb stray populations should be excluded from funding from their cities/prefectures or even national funding, until that methodology is discontinued.

>>35519910
At this point, I imagine, wild Yukkuri populations have already become an entrenched part of ecosystems. If you take out the Yukkuri, it would also cause fairly massive explosions of whatever plant-life/pests that the Yukkuri fed on, while causing predator populations to drop hard into near-extinction. This has happened when small animals like rabbits or foxes were over-hunted to "curb" their populations

As I understand it, yukkuri are basically a walking Malthusian catastrophe.

They reproduce exponentially, so any amount of food/water/shelter you give them will only be adequate for so long before there are simply too many of them.

You could try family planning, but there would always be shitheads that don't listen. It would be like trying to maintain a no-kill shelter without neutering, the exponential equation would eventually defeat it.

You could accept them as a new part of the ecosystem (which would probably be the only realistic option in remote areas given how quickly they breed), but in areas with human/yukkuri interface, eradication (albeit polite eradication via neutering) would probably be the best option.

Eradication of animal populations is, by-far, considered to be incredibly in-humane. It is a gross violation of modern medical ethics to perform such actions.

You're considerably overthinking it. No-kill shelters have two options: we can keep and hold on-to the animals. We can also adopt them out just like a standard shelter. We can also release them back out into the streets, but *not the wild*. An unfortunate necessity of this last point is that many states require that animals be neutered prior to release (after healing, of course.)

Yukkuri's work by power of belief - if they think about something hard enough, it'll come true. A significantly more humane method of ensuring Yukkuri populations do not reproduce outside of control is one of two methods

>Careful observation of Yukkuris
It is known that Yukkuris more or less may only have a handful of sexual partners at most, but most only have one or two on average in their lives. Those that lining up to be sexual partners tend to spend some time together before having sex, and they do rub-rub more often than usual. They can then be separated into different group of Yukkuri such that they'll have no further contact. Yukkuri are social creatures, so it'll be important to allow enough space for groups to form, but we can pick who are in these groups.

>Mental manipulation
If a Yukkuri can be made to believe that they are in infertile in a certain location, they'll become infertile. This can probably be done with a Yukkuri that is infertile, allowing them to "refresh" with it, and upon seeing no stalk or no evidence of a mammalian birth, they may then be told that while they're in Mister Sanctuary, they are not able to give birth.

Similarly to the previous idea, we can find aberrations to this combined belief in infertility and separate them out (from your so-called "shitheads"). The children from these births will be taken upon birth and dispersed upon the different Yukkuri groups to form the basis of such groups. If we can't perform this idea, then we may simply opt to keep the "fertile" Yukkuri apart and out of contact of other Yukkuris whie their children are taken upon birth to form the new groups, allowing us to have a foundation to form such groups with desired beliefs while in-system.

>Wild Yukkuri (in-nature, non-stray Yukkuri)
The fact is that if you can tell the different from wild, pet, and stray Yukkuris, then the Yukkuris themselves are presumably already entrenched into the local ecosystem. If you had an animal in such ecosystem, even if it were invasive, and you attempt to remove them to "correct" the ecosystem, then the results you'd obtain are that the ecosystem is much worse off than they were when they arrived.

If Yukkuri had already moved-in, and the local wild-life already adapted favourably to them, then you'll do much, much more harm by attempting to get rid of them then you'd ever gain from it. At that point, it'd be much more beneficial to simply leave them be - as predator populations are already doing a sufficient at managing their populations, not to mention other factors. If you remove Yukkuris, you will decimate predator populations while forcing you contend with how to cull the lower order life that the Yukkuris had now previously controlled.

Back to the stray Yukkuris - if these were real creatures, like dogs or cats, and a vet was caught attempting to do what you suggest, they would quickly find themselves losing their license. They would also be subject to federal crimes that carry significant criminal penalties.

They all neuter the animals though. You have to, cats and dogs reproduce just as fast as yukkuri do. Even domestic pets with owners are supposed to be spayed and neutered to reduce feral populations.

>Careful observation of Yukkuris

This would be a funny doujin. Good luck trying to prevent an animal from reproducing when reproduction is the single strongest instinct they have.

>Mental manipulation

isn't this just a meaner version of neutering?

>Wild Yukkuri (in-nature, non-stray Yukkuri)

Maybe. In some areas (wildlife reserves, agricultural land, places with endangered species) it might be an issue.

I'm thinking that neuter and resettle would be a thing specifically in cities, where they'd become a nuisance like stray cats and dogs.

>Neutering
We are bound by law to neuter any cats dogs (and some other animals that we've had come in!) prior to releasing them out un-adopted. Pet owners often do neuter their pets, but iirc that the laws on this in many jurisdictions are quite a bit laxer, and an owner many opt not to do so for a variety of reasons. But when it comes to rescues in-system, it's up the rescue itself to determine whether to neuter or not. Many rescues are of the opinion it's best to await until made to do so, just in case.

>Yukkuri observation
It's really not at all that hard to do so when you already have them under careful observation for signs of illness, violence, etc. Unlike dogs or cats, Yukkuri in doujins, iirc, will "court" each other to a certain degree prior to refreshing. Moreover, iirc, Yukkuri are not supposed to be able to refresh those that look like themselves, as in, Reimu-types cannot refresh with other Reimus and likewise Yukkuri have an aversion to doing that. So, it might be that a meaningful method of managing the amount of new babies is to have groups be only of certain Yukkuris - Reimus with only Reimus, Cirnos with only Cirnos, and so on.

>But isn't (mental manipulation) just a meaner version of neutering?
I don't think so, because it is a non-permanent and, most importantly, non-harmful means of doing so. Yukkuri will stop believing themselves to be infertile once they step out the sanctuary. And truth be told, if a Yukkuri really is infertile, then there's no reason to take any action whatsoever as they can refresh all they wish and nothing would happen.

It also allows us the option to a "miracle of fertility" between two Yukkuri if we deem it necessary to do so. Such as an unknown cause resulting in the death of Yukkuri, forcing us to allow certain Yukkuris to refresh to replenish lost populations. This would be temporary, though.

An alternative might be that we may allow them to refresh if we're confident enough in the Yukkuri power of belief, and cross our fingers and hope that it has a physical impact on fertility.

>Wild Yukkuri
No. The fact that is if the Yukkuris have already become an entrenched part of an ecosystem then you'll be damaging the ecosystem even more by trying to dislodge them. If Yukkuri are having a detrimental effect on some lower life, then you could potentially attempt to slightly increase the numbers of local predators in an attempt to curb their population, but even that would have a serious effect on all other animal life, not just Yukkuri. The fact is you can't put the genie back in the bottle.

In the case of endangered species, what you could do is attempt to reinvigorate the numbers by having members of that species in a rescue and breed larger numbers and place them into the wild to offset the effect of Yukkuris.

Agricultural companies, which are ethical, often will capture animals that are caught and give them to rescue sanctuaries. In this case, we'd relocate it but not neuter it as to not interfere with the ecosystem.

Shelters in cities are often the worst because of variety of factors, a prominent of which is the tendency for people to just blatantly abandon their pets. I believe that, in the case of Yukkuris, abandonment would become so much less of an issue (almost to the point that outlying shelters would almost be empty after some time) is if the criminal penalties of abandoning a Yukkuri was so great that it heavily discourages doing so - such as a fine of thousands of dollars per violation.

I would really like seeing a doujin where a Yukkuri owner get their just desserts for abandoning Yukkuri just because it bred with a stray, or abusing them because they did Yukkuri things. Afterall, isn't it funny that they complain about strays, but also contribute to their numbers by throwing both out the Yukkuri, and if their pet was the mother, as well as their kids for what's a relatively minor indiscretion?

I don't mind the old Yukkuri style of drawing the Touhou girls like bodied Yuns (When the Touhou girls were just drawn like Yukkuris, but acted and did all the same things from Touhou)

But real bodied Yukkuris are...kind of creepy. Of course some of good, but it seems like it's mostly a compromise of both the 2hus and the Yukkuris, but none of the benefits.

They're not as classically beautiful as the girls, nor do they have their powers (most of the time). They're not as adorable as Yukkuris, and don't have the funny aspects of them. It's a weird middle-ground.

You know, I've been thonking, and there's an easy way to sidestep the neutering debate altogether

If there are some places that are off limits to yukkuri (farms, city streets, golf courses and shit like that that has nice landscaping) and places where yukkuri are allowed (the woods, undeveloped areas) then the simple solution is to pick up all of the yukkuris in the area you want to protect, and just relocate them to somewhere where they aren't a problem.

You just offer them a sweet sweet for every yukkuri they can get into the animal control van, and then drive until you don't see streetlights any more.

Of course, if there's a native yukkuri population where you dropped them off, there are going to be mass fatalities because you just pushed the environment way past its carrying capacity

They poop out whatever their filling is - custard, red bean paste, etc. The exception is that this is considered to be somewhat stale as opposed to the fresh filling on the inside. It's like a pump making sure the filling on the inside of all fresh, as they convert everything they consume into more filling.

In art, their poops should really look like somewhat stale versions of their filling. And it should vary in colour as their fillings are varied in colour. Most artists don't bother to go this far, however, and some even go as far as to make their poop look more like human or animal feces for little more than shock value (or to appease their own scat fetish, in the case of a certain artist).

How hard would raising a buri be compared to, say, a bog-standard Reimu or Marisa? Or even a Wasa-Reimu? I have to imagine that Buri's are the hardest type to raise since, even though they lack any and all of the characteristic personality of the Yukkuri they share their accessories with, they're too absent-minded to do anything else, either.

They'll probably have to be constantly cleaned, even more than a standard Yukkuri, as they can't clean themselves after doing a Mister Pee or Mister Poo. They can't feed themselves, as they won't be able to register anything they see as being "food" unless you quite literally put it in their mouth. And you'd have to more or less force them to exercise, lest they become too fat to move and/or waste away.

And yet, I feel like I want to have a buri in my collection. I could have it with my other Yukkuris, as the risk of a Yukkuri refreshing with it is marginal, unless with an Alice-type which, even then, is unlikely.

So there are a ton of OYP doujins that look fantastic but haven't been translated. The translators are a bunch of discord trannies who come out very rarely and don't translate a lot.

So I've been trying to translate the doujins myself by plugging the image files into OCR software and then using a neural network to translate the text into English.

So far the big roadblocks I've run into are OCR being terrible at reading handwritten kanji, and the fact that google's OCR requires you to laboriously load in each text panel and convert it to a google doc.

Do you think I could get someone to just give me the kanji so I can just plug it into the translator?

>final four digits
Maybe I'm overthinking it. The numbers don't count on the row they appear in right? If they are, then the final row is unattainable and the first is useless because you start from a a single yu, assuming it doesn't operate on you rolling a number and moving to the next row to choose and continuing from there.

No, the ko is the start space, you get her for free. The active digit is the one you use to evolve *from* that column. Notice how the fully evolved ones have no active digit?

It looks to me like the last 4 digits determine whether you go up or down when yuvolving.
Odds = up, evens = down.
So in my post, >>35632517 I go down, up, up, up, giving me the dosu.
I think it'd be extremely impractical to keep a dosu as a pet, so I'd just downgrade it to the Mima.
How much food would a dosu even need everyday?

get a patchy if your goal is just IQ

unrelated, but I have this pet theory that a dosupatchouli would be the most intelligent being in the universe, but they don't usually show up because patchy types are weak.
