What methods to study kanji do you recommend?
I'm not a complete beginner, learning for 2 years and I have some vocabulary etc. already, but I haven't finished RTK the first time and I want to brush up my kanji again, but maybe using some different method. I liked RTK, but maybe something that provides words as well would be better? Is KanjiDamage Anki deck discouraged?

The best way in my opinion is do a little of everything. Tackle some vocabulary and learn kanji from that. Do normal anki kanji reps, you can also handwrite practice to help know them better. Look at subs and/or texts of shit and look up every word you don't know as your read or watch

I honestly don't give a shit. You may be right about isolated kanji not being optimal but anon literally asked about how to study kanji, and I shared my views on what works well on that matter. The method of passive learning is by far the best, of course, but it can be hard to feel yourself progress in it. Doing isolated kanji or some other anki rep can help keep an anons morale up since they know they are progressing at least in some way on the side of of passive learning via reading reading and listening to sentences they don't know at all until they look it up and immersion. I think it's equally important to find ways that make you motivated to continue studying than only focusing on learning the most efficiently. Japanese is a long learning process after all. Scam charities like this grow to fill that niche. They sound nice, have 0 operating overhead and do fuck all except pocket money laundered through shady tax practices that are technically legal. Never give money to a charity unless they can: provide a list of concrete things they have accomplished, show receipts of exactly how money is spent (and how much of it goes to their execs/marketing vs actual charitable actions) and have a mission statement with a clear and achievable goal.
