Its likely that a lot of the inactive groups have moved on from Touhou or even doujin music in general, so there isn't much of a reason for them to even be aware/care about this distributor in the first place - especially since it takes more time than signing up to an easy-to-use website like DistroKid.

Anyone know of any circles or songs with a sound like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QinTrKbNos

Real talk, how do you even know what genre of music you're listening to?
The circles, albums and Wiki rarely mention them for individual song, and even when they do it's usually too general, like "electronic" for example

I have no idea what I'm listening to most of the time

>> No.34960526

>>34959338
It's a thing that happens when you get really familiar with one kind of genre.
I can tell apart Eurobeat from most electronic genres easily, partly because of it having a slight focus on vocals and the style of arrangement.
I can also tell apart most metal genres, most people would hear Amon Amarth and Entombed, then say "Oh that's death metal!"
But if you listen closely they are set apart pretty decently by melody and the approach to the image.

>> No.34960933

>>34960526
Eurobeat is both a good and bad example, it's so distinct that even I can easily tell it apart
For just about any other type of electronic music, I have no idea whether it's dubstep, house, techno or trance

All the other niche subgenres are even more impossible to tell apart

Looking for a specific song. The hook is like "No more game over~" with female vocals and a picture of Reimu. Pretty sure the lyrics were about Reimu and how she feels about "falling out of the sky" (i.e. getting a game over). Please help I desperately want to hear it again.

>> No.34974752

>>34955912
That's a good example of generic drum'n'bass (with vocals). You can hear a handful of it on albums from various electronic circles like EastNewSound, Halozy, Alstroemeria (earlier albums), Syrufit, 俺++(Includeore). Back closer to 2010 it sounded more like what you posted, but that was around when everyone started making dubstep and electro-house as well. These days most of the doujin scene DnB is heavily infused with trance/hardcore/neurofunk, as you can hear when you listen to ESQUARIA albums. I can't think of a single album with exclusively DnB vocal music, so you're not going to find it all in one place. In addition, any electronic music with prominent vocals is in danger of being labeled pop music, also known as "literally anything."
Here are some good ones that sound kinda similar:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqT7ph2ortQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7SHR95lSJU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1ASmuNY-7E
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGlwaysBUrY (not touhou but cmon it's Taishi)
https://frozenstarfall.bandcamp.com/track/feathers-feat-apple
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om_zyzB7xn4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEOScQ_HhXY

Now if you aren't concerned with it having vocals, there's a decent amount of that around. Check out pastyle and IZMIZM, especially earlier releases.

>>34959338
>The circles, albums and Wiki rarely mention them for individual song, and even when they do it's usually too general, like "electronic" for example
Because the vast majority of people don't really know what most of the electronic subgenres refer to. You're not alone in that regard (and I'm not claiming to be an authoritative source either). Even people who claim to know what they all mean often disagree with each other. To be fair, lots of them are not mutually exclusive and have very loose definitions to begin with.
Also, electronic songs have genre switches much more often than other music genres. It's not uncommon to hear a song that's half drum'n'bass and half dubstep. It's not some hybrid genre (drumstep refers to something else, afaik); it just completely switches in the middle of the song. That's a standard reason for just calling something "electronic."

>>34960933
>All the other niche subgenres are even more impossible to tell apart
They're generally easier to tell apart because they are more specific, like eurobeat. Look at things like gabber, hardstyle, hardtek. They are reasonably exact in what they refer to. Dubstep is (or was) a specific genre, but it became way too overused so it changed meaning to "whatever goes wub wub."

I’ve been trying to find a specific song but I’ve been having no luck. I’d like help please, /jp/.

It was a Pure Furies cover (or Sea Where the Home Planet Refects) and the image used in the YouTube video I watched used this art. I think the song was called “Lonley Knight” some something similar but I haven’t found it. It also had a nice bit of piano at the beginning. Anyone know what song, circle, etc. I’m talking about and can point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Any advice for if I want to actually buy physical copies of the music, for my own use and possibly ripping? I figure I can't get much higher quality than the source itself, and I want to make the most permanent collection of Touhou music possible.
I'm specifically looking for a doujin circle called "Jersey" that does covers in an Andean folk music style.

How exactly does a partial download work? I assume it's seeded as a torrent, but that doesn't let you... pick what bits to download so much as it downloads as much as it can before space runs out. Tried it with Flashpoint, but my "1 tb drive" was really 985 GB, and couldn't fit the whole thing- which broke it.

>I remember a lot of files I was seeding broke when I moved them out of downloads and into a different folder
Yea you need to either inform/trick the client in some way to find the new files, or use whatever moving function the client offers if any. In tixati you have a dialog where you can move a torrent without breaking things.

>> No.35263785

>>35263717
Seems nifty; but how would I go about adding my files to start seeding them in Tixati? Would I have to re-leech or manually find them all in their misc. folders and add them again?

Also, I still do want to find out how to purchase physical copies of doujin CDs, particularly in regards to new releases and/or old, obscure ones.

>> No.35263804

>>35263785
Not entierly sure what you mean, but if you mean moving your current torrents from your current client to tixati without redownloading them, that's simple. Add the torrent via eg a magnet link to tixati, stop it, move the files you have where it expects them, and "force check" the torrent.

Hmm, most of the stuff on that page I already tried. For whatever reason, this particular circle stops selling physical AND digital copies after the event date. I've checked their official site, Melonbooks, booth.pm... all no dice, no physicals or digital offers left anywhere for any of their albums. I absolutely plan on keeping an eye out for new releases, since their last release was in 2020 and they put out one of these every 1-2 years, I don't think they're dead yet.

I suppose something like Yahoo auctions is my only choice for buying old copies like this, and I guess I'll just bop around Melonbooks for new releases from other circles I was interested in.

Also there is a severe lack of Initial D style eurobeat Tracks, it is so low energy compared to what Eurobeat Union usually puts out. My fave albums of theirs are retro future girls, kokoro vibrations (ココロバイブレーション), and magic catastrophe (マジコカタストロフィ).

Here are a some resemblances to I've Sound I think sound somewhat similar and paired them up:

Ayana - freak of nature -start-: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSlwz-qlfu8
Alice's Emotion (Vocals: Misato) - Soul of Rouge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7HyOU7lAn8

KOTOKO - agony: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfIrPZ6Ci_k
Alstroemeria Records (Vocals: nomico) - Alice Maestera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LBpqVgT6Es
Yonder Voice - Shrine Maiden: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeotfIn1QsQ

KOTOKO - sensitive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeLnTuP7fp0
Sound Online (Vocals: nomico) - Illusion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydo_RDyY1QE

Shimamiya Eiko - Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Lxx7lVAj7o
Alstroemeria Records (Vocals: Misato) - Dolls: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp0Uq_94J9Q

Some circles to look into (especially for their older works) if you're interested in some more 2000s techno/trance tracks but not strictly resembling I've Sound:
- Alstroemeria Records
Albums from before 2010 or before: 'against, perfect cherry blossom', trace|phantasmagoria, genealogy|shrinemaiden, EXSERENS, Fragment Reactions, Double Counterpoint, of memories...
- Alice's Emotion
Vocals: Aki Misawa, Misato, Ayumi Nomiya, Michiru Kaori.
Arrangers: Masayoshi Minoshima [of Alstroemeria Records], Betwixt&Between...
- Halozy
May be bit of a stretch, but tracks such as 素晴らしい‘0’, 源流懐古, 空飛ぶライカ do give me a 2000s trance atmosphere kind of impression
- Sound Online
Albums: RE-ESSENCE, Blaze, Blue Constellations, Starry Sequence, The Color of Sorrow...
Arrangers: Yatoki Tsukasa, only, estha...
Vocals: Aki Misawa, nomico, Misato, Yuka Saeki...
- UI-70 (Album: Synchrotronic Rezonator)
- Minamotrance (Album: Lunatic Phaser)

I'm sure there are more circles, vocalists, arrangers and such but this is all I can think of at the moment

I agree. The first song sounds quite good, but Cocoa doesn't really fit for U.N.Owen was her. I prefer Aki with A-One, Darkish is one of her best songs. I just hope we get another track like Warning or Super Speed Way. DJ Commands NJK Records stuff was better than some newer Eurobeat Union stuff, his style currently seems kinda chopped up and you can't hear that fat brass sound like you can for example in Spiders Blood.

It seems like there is a bit of a lull in eurobeat circles, But as a whole, from the early 90s to today, the genre has gone in so many directions, that it really isn't a surprise as even newer DJ command Eurobeat is so different from the 1990s & 2000s era eurobeat of Initial D they really could be considered different Genres

And as much as I love real intense manly speedy drift songs like Spiders Blood, Fantastic World, Beats Shower, etc I can understand the change in direction to more Jpop/Anime OP style I just don't like this new change.

Eurobeat is defined by crazy Brass riffs, not by the vocals. If you keep thesame structure and just make everything sound softer, add some cute vocals you lost the essence of Eurobeat. The main aim of Eurobeat is to be energetic. It shouldn't be associated with JPop. Eurobeat is a part of EDM (originated from Disco) and it should be treated as a high-energy music genere, not as a marketing term for JPop.

Also, anyone can monetize their touhou remixes by uploading them to BOOTH from next month, ZUN gets 11% and the rest goes to you.
