I've recently finally completed all the windows mainline games.
The only thing that in hindsight hindered me from playing Touhou was that I had a shitty keyboard that I couldn't press the down+left arrow keys on at the same time.
The best advice I can give you is to forbid yourself from cumming to Touhous unless you can beat them in lunatic difficulity. You can start with something easy as Rumia and work your way up to Koishi. Or instead of that you can use the music as a incentive and just not listen to it unless you have beaten the stage or the boss it appears with.
