A mix of real life and there being more doujin from other series to translate, probably.

Early Jiroo is mired in self-loathing and angst but, aside from that one doujin that one fellow always mentions, his one and only Yuuka doujin is genuinely enjoyable, fairly moderate in its approach to those themes and even has an interesting portrayal of Yuuka's character, surprising considering how his standalone images with her and Medicine have some excruciatingly acerbic dialogue. Untranslated as of now, however, for nearly 11 years.
On a similar Yuuka front I like a select few others though my standards there may be slightly ridiculous. For other stuff it's been a while but Sayakata's Clownpiece series is nice.

I've been using touhou doujinshi covers for my kanji deck and it's been pretty interesting to find how diverse they can get, for example a book about Medicine Melancholy talking about horseracing and books that straight up teach about insurance
it really gives off the feeling of "everyone and anyone can make whatever they feel like"

After getting to know people's preferences on doujin sites, I didn't feel like translating my favorite vanilla and SFW doujins any more. And I can't access EH anyway since some time ago, even through a proxy.

As for the topic, I liked yokochou's Yuukarin stuff, Aozora Market's works, followed Warugaki, Tani Takeshi, and Mizuki Hitoshi's series until I suddenly lost interest in checking Danbooru. A lot of other well-known webcomic series whose names elude me at this point.

There are plenty of artists popping up all over, danbooru and gelbooru just don't scrape their content due to their personal views on quality control.
I will agree about the lack of translators, it seems a lot of them fled to other fandoms or straight up quit when some bigger artists started selling their content online in the name of supporting the artist or whatever retarded scanlator autism.

I remember there being soft translations at one point. I don't see them anymore on Gelbooru. I don't know if I'm mixing it with OYP and Danbooru since some stuff that gets translated gets uploaded there as well or if soft subs just aren't there anymore.
