Also: I got my Maki disc today. I'm actually surprised by the quality of it, it's good. I was expecting half-assed packaging on this since they must've know that it wouldn't sell well at all to really warrant a treatment like this. But it feels like a quality piece of a record, high class stuff. Then again I know hardcore and metal bands that do insane gatefold LPs and what have you, but those are very limited releases. Wonder how many copies of this LE they pressed?

And a few points:
1. Executive producer = Max Matsuura. Quite a surprise, I thought he was hands off during this whole thing, or atleast just watched from the sidelines. Maybe he just slapped his name on there "I'm the president of Avex. Goddamn!".
2. Maki is credited as the writer of the lyrics on half the tracks.
3. The 64-page book is walls of MOOOOOON and shoujo manga just like dude said a few threads back. Gonna put that somewhere in my comics collection.
4. Some decent pics of Maki in the booklet.
5. No personal thanks list thing and I was kinda hoping for a printed signature somewhere so I can get my damn tattoo already.
6. Sweet Black is just a project and not a production team. Each and every song on this album is done by completely different people. Quite the fucking surprise.

Gonna watch the DVD later and see how much of the j-drama crap I can get through before I snap the disc in half.

Its pretty clear that the stock was extremely limited. I was expecting a whole host of solo photocard sets and not just tour goods. But considering most of this stuff sold out initially it seems like a good sign for some deeper digging in terms of items. As I said before I thought the planning for this would have to be extremely careful and its clear they didn't over extend their hand that far. Also, I think they'll need to work out some rules on max allowed for specific members, as it seemed to be some flooding going on.

Funny that they call it a 'Best' collection though, since at 42 songs, that's practically every B-side they have. Which ones were left off (not counting instrumental tracks)? So, it sounds like the same deal as the Taiwan auditions in the sense that they will probably make their own group within H!P and start their own branch in Korea. That's okay and all, but it's not really the same as Japanese auditions where they are getting members for already existing groups. Either way, it's good news on the whole Asia expansion deal.
