I just finished genki 1 and 2 and reached level 10 on wanikani. I am planning on playing through persona 5 on japanese. I have played through the game 3 times in english and I have plenty of free time so I’m willing to just spend 5 hours to make sure I fully comprehend a persona 5 in game day. Would this mostly be a waste of time because this is far above my level or could it be an efficient way to learn japanese? Please note that I will continue to use wanikani on the side and will be studying from tobira as well, so persona 5 wouldn’t be the only way I try to improve at the language.

The basic rule for Kansai-ben (and most Japanese dialects for that matter) is that while in terms of grammar structure, almost nothing will change. Vocabulary makes all the difference.
