Emil Chronicle Online is an MMO that takes place in the land of Acronia.

There exists three races; Emil (human race), Titania (angels), and Dominion (demons).

12 beginning classes:
4 warrior types
4 mage types
4 backpacker types (farmer, miner, ect)

The game consist of 1st 2nd and 3rd job advancements and the cap of the game is level 100.

There are also special side jobs you can get.

Also you can swap between 2.1 and 2.2 jobs.
For each 10 job lvls (I think) of one of these jobs, you can keep 1 skill to transfer to the other one.
So let's say you are a job lvl.20 knight, you can choose two skills from that job and then change to Dark Stalker and still have them.

Yes, we knew it was inevitable for them to use gameguard, but back then what we were discussing is how to run ECO "without" it, pretty much like how most of us play RO without using gameguard by forcefully removing it from the .exe.

To fix the problem with the tiny text, go into your ECO folder, and open up the eco.ini config file. Change the "fontname" line to "fontname=Tahoma". Save the file and reload the game. Enjoy your readable text.

Seems like there's a lot of questions floating around, so I guess I'll TRY and clear some up since I played the CBT.

1: You don't need to sign up on Run Up's site to play ECO. Just sign up here: http://eco.runup.com.my/account_apply.php

2: Race is really more about looks and just starting out than anything. The starting stats really only affect you for the first few levels and after a while, it all evens out. The two biggest differences I can think of are that you could go immediately apply for certain jobs with certain races whereas another race may need to level once or twice and /some/ equips are race-specific such as those cat jetpacks (whose names elude me at the moment) and backpacks, which I guess makes Emils ideal for backpacker classes since they're the only ones that can use them. Otherwise, it's pretty much the same, though.

3: According to someone on the On9G forums, you CAN change the font in the game. I haven't tested this, myself, but the directions are as follows:

1. Open eco.ini in your eco folder with notepad.
2. Edit text inside like this:
fontname=Tahoma
LogFontSize=1

Warlock is one of the "Mage" classes, brah. I'll break it down since you seem to be confused, though.

Shamans handle elemental magic (I.E. water, fire, earth, and wind) and seem to be best out of the casters for dealing heavy damage.

Vates are the healers/holy magic users and, in my experience are pretty necessary for each party considering potions are expensive for new players and food items have cast times, which make them terrible for spamming in emergencies.

Warlocks use dark magic and status effect skills and can also use shields and certain melee skills. Frankly, though, the idea of being a hybrid in this game is pretty terrible since you wind up having to split your stat points between too many choices and wind up just being mediocre. If you want to smack shit to death, just be a swordsman

Wizards specialize in neutral magic and have some status effect skills as well as certain, uh... utility skills like the ability to make decoy clones of yourself that detract mob aggro from you.

Elements work as follows: Fire beats water, which beats earth, which beats wind. All four of these elements are strong against holy element, which is strong against dark element, which beats all four of the "nature" elements.

As far as stats go, the only ones you really need are Magic and Dexterity. Magic ups your magic damage and mana while Dex ups your cast speed. I know, I know, you're asking, "Well, what about Int? Sounds like a mage stat to me!" Well, Int's really only good for ranged (yes, even for archery) accuracy and influencing success rates for inflicting abnormal statuses. Most magic, however, has naturally high hit rates, so you don't really need it unless you just want to go around poisoning shit all day.

If you just want to blast shit, I'd say go with shaman, dump points into Mag and Dex, possess someone and kite the shit out of everything.

There's a mod out there that fixes it, from what I hear, but I do not know where to get it. I've also heard the reason the angles suck is because they didn't program in a sky for the earlier maps and it gets fixed in later "Sagas" (we're apparently starting off in Saga 4, which is why some maps lend you more freedom), but again, that's just hearsay. I have found, however, that the farther you get from Acropolis, the better the angle tends to be, so maybe there's some truth in it

You posess an item and "become" that equipment. If someone "uses" or "equips" you, they will gain bonus stats(temporary). However, you DO gain a small trickle of exp if someone is using an item that you posess.

I played a swordsman in CB and tried out a warlock in OB. Like I said, dark beats "nature" so theoretically, it sounds like a good idea, but in practice, warlocks feel really gimped. Case in point: between levels 1 and 29, you get ONE damage dealing spell. The other skills you get are passives (and are mostly shit like dagger mastery and +mace accuracy), melee attack skills and status effect spells. Status effect spells are relatively useless for the fact that they have shitty success rates, which means you'll have to pump Int and, consequentially, gimp your actual magic damage. I haven't had much time to get familiar with any of the caster second jobs, though, so, for all I know, you could get skills later on that more than make up for those things.

Pretty much. The exp you get as someone USING a possessed item is (If I remember correctly) actually higher than if you were solo, while as a possessor, you get a slight amount of exp taken away. However, it's much easier to level while possessing someone. Soloing in this game is a terrible, terrible grind, especially if you can't take a hit for shit like, you know, the spellusers. I actually find it faster to dual kite as a shaman than to just run around shooting crap solo (at least at lower levels).

In addition to that, while possessing someone, your HP/SP/MP will regenerate as though you were sitting down or in a town. Your MP/SP consumption when you use skills is increased, though, I believe. You can also use recovery items while possessing, but they will only affect the person you are possessing, not you.

Oh and most of the damage will go to the person being possessed, but you CAN still get hit and die while possessing.

Before anyone asks, to learn the first rank of a new skill, you'll need 3 total skill points and then one skill point to learn each rank from then on. For example, to max out a 5 level skill, you'd need to level up 7 total times. Every 3 skill points are denoted by a large red orb in the skill window

This is true. Although it isn't quite what he was asking, I feel it's related enough to mention: When you go to your second job, you can't use your new skill points on your first job skills. In addition, you can switch to the other second job (and back, if you choose), but you only get to keep as many skills from your second job as your current job level divided by 10. For example, if you went from blademaster to bounty hunter at J level 40, you'd keep all your swordsman skills, and 4 blademaster skills and have your job level reset to 1. If you went back to blademaster, you'd keep job level/10 skills from the bounty hunter skill set, have no blademaster skills and start at job level 1 again. So, in a sense, you can reset for second jobs...or something like that.
