/jp/ sure does get old after a couple days, I'm leaving.

It's just the quality of this board seems dramatically low. It's the same garbage over and over again, and frankly, it gets tiresome. I don't care about some random touhous, or fate/stay night. At least /a/ has more of a variety of discussion.

Well, maybe you should.

Fate/Stay Night has a tremendous and intricate universe which is excellent for theoretical discussion.

Touhou is the heart which the board pounds to.

Umineko has been passed off since it's gotten a bit popular.

Don't like touhou and VNs?

That's like making a thread in /sp/ saying "I'm leaving forever, the board quality is really low, nothing but SPORTS in here" Why would you even come here in the first place?

>> No.3466475

This board is called Japan/General, just because Moot created the board to get you guys out of /a/ doesn't mean much. I don't mind some touhou and F/SN discussion, but this is just ridiculous. Are you all new to this? It seems /a/ has played more.

>Are you all new to this? It seems /a/ has played more.
Have you even been to /a/?
Anyone who isn't trying to delude themselves will agree that it's anime-themed /b/
I know our variety of discussion in /jp/ isn't great or anything, but to be honest, the complexity of discussion has pretty much dropped off the charts in ALL boards over the past few years.
Only the boards that remained small, with a relatively high concentration of oldfags kept discussion quality tolerable

Not that anon but. There's not much trolly about that statement.

Moot himself has said several times that he hates /jp/ and created it to improve /a/

So much for that part, eh? With how fast they dropped into discord after we left, it seems /jp/ topics were all keeping /a/ above board

We have no right to flaunt superiority anymore friend. /jp/ went to hell as well, if only later and not as bad as /a/.
4chan has grown too big, nothing will remain the same. And for most it means changing into something we can no longer tolerate. The others will be genuinely happy trolling other trolls, indulging in tripfag discussion, and being undereducated morons all around.
So is life, so the boards fall. Let it go.

New to what?

> It seems /a/ has played more.
Played more what?

Also, Touhou and VNs are the two biggest topics on /jp/. If you want real discussions about Japan or something then try one of the other boards.

Sushi? /ck/.
Directions in Tokyo? /trv/.
J-rock? /mu/.

Well according the the archive, there hasn't been a dramatic spike in our traffic (i.e. newcomers), so your theory is wrong. Though you are correct about one thing, there has been a big increase in shitposters such as yourself.

>> No.3466553

>>3466475
You really have no idea what you are talking about. /a/ doesn't care about VNs, they stick with their shounen now. /a/ was once a good board but with our kick out and the newfags coming it turned just into utter shit.
If you want to talk about Japan or some kawaii weeaboo shit then go to /a/.
We never were that way here.

>> No.3466558

>>3466534
Oh, I see it now.
But we still can't be too happy about being better than /a/. It's an easily snatchable title these days, while we're going through our own moderate, slow burning hell.

I can't recognize /a/ anymore. Tried to go back for a while to get some manga for a change, it's nothing but /b/ with anime now.

>> No.3466561

>>3466541
Nice try. I'm guessing 90% of /a/ doesn't know a lick of Japanese, so how could they play more than /jp/? There's frequent threads on untranslated VNs and games.

>> No.3466571

I didn't really mean it when I said that /a/ plays more, just a jab at how little this board actually reads/plays.

We /jp/ers on average have read more VNs than all of the boards on 4chan combined.

I propose we branch out some more. There's plenty of Japanese things we haven't discussed to death.

There's architecture, there's horticulture and gardening, there's sociology (other than WHY SO RAPE JAPAN), all kinds of places to talk about (it's only /trv/ if you're going there)

>> No.3466582

>>3466541
I see now, just because we don't talk about what you want /jp/ is shit. Flawless logic.
Tell us what you would want to talk about, what do you expect when you come here? What kind of VN do you want to see more talked about, what topics do you want?
I am seriously interested here.

>> No.3466593

>>3466551
Please don't call me a shitposter. I'm just as bothered as most seeing what the board has turned into in the last months.
You try going through weeks worth of the archive trying to find good threads and still have a sliver of hope for a tomorrow. We're too far gone by now, that's all.
Wish I could do something.

>> No.3466599

You seem to be a big talker, why don't we put you to the test. How much VNs, doujin games, anime, and video games have you played? This should give me a good laugh or two.

>> No.3466619

>>3466599

Much more than this board has.

>>3466582

How about more Yume Miru Kusuri threads? Ashita no kimi to au tame ni? Natsumero? Kagerou Note? There is so much more to be talking about.

>> No.3466649

I've seen this thread before.
"/jp/ is shit. Why aren't there X threads?"
"Why don't you go make them, then?"
"But I do."
And then nothing happens.

>> No.3466668

>>3466619
Just because other VNs aren't discussed a lot doesn't mean they aren't discussed at all. Most stuff goes through phases in which right after a new VN translation is completed /jp/ gets spammed with threads about that VN to the point that everyone gets sick of it. That's why certain visual novels aren't discussed that often nowadays.

That includes Yume Miru Kusuri, which has had a surprising amount of threads made about it recently. There seems to be a mini-revival of sorts.

As for untranslated VNs, threads exist. You just aren't looking.

>> No.3466684

>>3466619
>Yume Miru Kusuri
What, are you kidding me? Now I know you're new here. There was a time when both /a/ and /jp/ wouldn't shut up about that VN. YMK's fanbase pre-dated /jp/. It was common to see two YMK threads on the first page at the same time. Also, I thought you were going to mention some cult classics. Some of those things you mentioned are fairly common here.
