I reckon it's not an issue with the display but with the audio and the video signal not being perfectly synced. Try routing audio through hdmi directly and using a splitter to feed that to the speakers, it works with newer data rips (IE no garbled sound) and eliminates the delay between the audio card and the video card doing things separately.
Or you can just keep using the DVI cable, since we're not going above 720p anyway (now that i think of it, i don't know if dvi supports 120hz, that's an interesting question)

All the bootleg conversion kits oversaturated the market and now ITG is its own thing and is unapproachable by neophytes, while DDR simply doesn't exist. Honestly, there are no real introductory rhythm games for people to then move onto harder things, they're either very casual and entry level (like rhythm tengoku and whatever) or they are balls-to-the-wall hardcore turbonigger performance players only. It's an empty niche, i'd say, and arcades can't fill it anymore because arcades are even more dead than they were before.
I'd say the closest thing we could have is DJMAX but respect has been mismanaged to no end and is still very niche.

But it's a smalelr niche than casuals and hardcores, since it's too hard for the former and too easy for the latter, so it's like for mobage, they're their own thing. I think. Depends on the country/market as well.

random is just one of the normal option/mod settings you can pick during song select. the idea is that you'll experience more challenging chords/streams but without having to play 10s+, forcing you to improve faster, even if it seems really hard at first. I didn't start playing on random until I hit my 10 wall, and even now I'm on 11s and only use random every other session.
