How far along do I need to be to get something out of MIA/Refold (Active Immersion and Passive Listening specifically)?

For reference I'm about 2.5 chapters into Genki I, 30 kanji into KKLC, and a bit into N5 Tango. I know that I'm basically no-where as is, but I wanted to see if I could get anything out of MIA currently, and the answers seems to be a resounding no.

I started up Aggretsuko with the Netflix Language Learning add-on, and I could understand maybe 1-2 words every 3-4 sentences (and they were the bare-bones basic words, such as 私, これ, etc.) Moved over to something like "Our Planet" and similar case. I suppose I could try finding *really* basic stuff like Peppa Pig or something dubbed and subbed, but I can't imagine it's much better as is.

So my question is how far along should I be, or need to be, to get anything out of this method

Heyhey everyone.

Around 2 years ago I started learning japanese. So I learned hiragana and katakana on the first day and then dived right into it. Sometimes more motivated and on some days less. But self-studying is not my cup of beer. Often I wanted to quit (I had 2 three month breaks) because I didn't had the feeling that I progressed in any way, but I kept on it in the end.

But still... I feel horrible about my current state of japanese.
Since 1,5 years (with a break in between - where I didn't missed anything) I do weekly 1,5 hours sessions on monday in a school nearby.
We have a great japanese teacher but I always have the feeling that we're way to slow.
Everytime we pick up a new topic I'm like "ah that's how it works" and then we stick on it way to long.
But that's not a fault of the teacher or anything, it's just the situation that 1,5 hours a week is just not enough to learn a language.

I know this is proabably not what this reddit is about, but I don't know where to write it down elsewhere, I'm so frustrated with this language. I love it, but I don't think that I'm able to learn it.

Others learn for a month and will pass the N5... like what the heck...

2 years of studying and all I can say is that I ate an apple or how old my mother is and stuff. This is stuff I could say after watching a few hours of japanese from zero on youtube.
