btw I really don't like this talk of rage-qutting from a couple of you guys! I had hoped it would last longer than that, if for nothing else than because it costs money. If you're bored with grinding then as many as we can should just meet and play together. That's always more fun than mindlessly grinding alone.

That was largely why people made such a big deal out of choosing between East and West coast. That was also the reason a server was designated for Oceania even though the server is physically located in NA.

Yes, but at the time, the level cap was at 30, so that could have affect on my experience.

Personally, I loved it. Capturing fortresses, random group fights, rifting, etc. Like I already said, it's very reminiscent of RvR from DAoC (but with the twist of a 3rd NPC faction), which many consider to be the pinnacle of MMO PvP.

Some of the chain attacks also remind me of DAoC too. I find it funny that Mythic, who made DAoC, made Warhammer Online to try and be DAoC (at least when it came to a good amount of pvp/rvr), and failed horribly at it. Aion looks like it's very much like DAoC (which a lot of players loved, as you mentioned), and looks like it will improve more (hopefully) as time goes on.

I'm sure you've noticed the huge chunk of disgruntled WAR guilds making the jump to Aion. There's a significant portion of the Phoenix Throne community where I'm playing on Lumiel.

Yeah, I'll probably be one of those Phoenix Throne people once I manage to get the game and make time for it. The guild master of my old guild on there unfortunately had to close down his LAN Center once he found a better job and his wife sorta forced him to. I think I saw a split though I'm not sure if they switched back or not of guilds from Phoenix throne or WAR going to Zikel or Lumiel. Then again I never really bothered to check.

In a nutshell:
The ARP community (Aion Roleplayers) held a poll to select a server to roll on and dub the 'unofficial' RP server. Lumiel was the winner of the poll based on the type of forum community that already existed there on AionSource.

A portion of PT was not satisfied with the results of ARP's poll, because they felt Lumiel wasn't conducive to a 'real' PvP environemnt (lol on PvP centric game). So, they decided to circumvent ARP's poll and begin campaigning on Aionsource to vote Zikel on NCsoft's official poll for the RP server. Later, NCsoft decided to take down their poll and respect the community's predetermined decisions, and so both communities were left with their respective servers.

However, as the days before Preselect progressed, a portion of PT saw the zerg guilds coming to Zikel and the environment that it was fostering and decided to go with Lumiel after all. Naturally, the remaining PT guilds on Zikel absolutely despise Lumiel and attempt to troll our forums on a regular basis. I'd say the PT community is now split about half and half between the servers.

That's the gist of it anyway. Yes, the drama is ridiculous, but it's behind us now (mostly), thankfully.

I'm a stickler for animations, and I wasn't very fond of the female Asmodian run animation. It doesn't look very natural, because it's too stiff and awkward looking. Also, the Elyos idle animations felt more appropriate for my loli.

Asmodians seem to be the overwhelmingly popular choice, though. Thankfully, NCsoft has learned from others' failures and is enforcing faction caps to keep the populations balanced within reason.

I played vanilla WoW and it was great. PvE was a challenge and PvP was actually fun. TBC rolled in and PvE wasn't overly difficult and people were farming BT in no time. I personally was a S1-S3 gladiator and quit before S4 began, I got gladiator as an affliction warlock.. I'm sure that tells you how easy it was. I tried out WotLK and found it to be boring so I quit again at 72. Friends tell me that there was only a few raid instances available and they were terrible and on farm status within a week or two and arena now consists of DKs and Ret paladins facerolling their way to victory. I just can't see any enjoyment factor in that game anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a faggot who whines on forums but honestly most of the carebears coming from WoW expect everything handed to them on a plate, what with how 'casual' it has become. Gotta grind for a bit? THIS GAME SUX YOU ONLY HAVE TO KILL 50 MOBS IN WOW. Getting ganked by the opposite faction? THIS GAME SUX YOU CAN'T TURN PVP OFF :((((( etc.

I'm sure you get the point. Faggots shouldn't even be comparing Aion with WoW anyway since they both have completely different play styles.

I was simply replying to your statement about anyone criticizing WoW being a little scrub who couldn't actually achieve anything (Yes, I do understand it was aimed at the people who whine on forums). Also vanilla WoW WAS fun, not because it was fresh but because it was actually a decent challenge. 40 man raids were actually hard and barely anyone made it past AQ40 unlike today where every faggot and his guild can run an 'easy mode' 10 man version of an instance and have it on farm status within a week. TM/SS fights etc. were all awesome too and really bought the community together. And /pvp disables PvP on a normal server, which most faggots have turned off unless they see you with <20% health then they attempt to gank you and usually fail miserably because they keyboard turn.

I play Horde on Grizzly Hills; all my characters have Touhou-related names but not a single person has commented on them (there was one person with a Japanese name who asked me where my names came from; I didn't tell him but instead just listed all my character names to test him, but he couldn't figure it out).

I've always wondered why people refer to vanilla WoW as "hard." The reason very few guilds cleared AQ40 wasn't because the bosses were frustratingly difficult, but because Huhuran required almost your entire raid to be geared up with high Nature Resist (no small feat when there were 40 people to do this with.)
This wasn't hard, it was a cockblock. A ridiculous way for Blizzard to drag out the raiding experience and cater it to hardcores (hardcore being defined as people who had time, not skill.)
WotLK is too easy, I won't deny that, but going back to vanilla would be awful. The perfect compromise would be more instances like Sunwell. It's a shame they'll probably never make an instance quite as challenging as that again.

Yeah I spent the first night getting to 40 with that, but after that once you start doing real work orders you'll level pretty fast I'm 210 tailoring now. Good thing for you is leather you get by killing monsters, while fess needs 150 gathers and that is a pain to get.

On my server Huhuran wasn't the main problem for the lower end guilds, it seemed they had more trouble with C'thun and the first few Naxx bosses. Farming NR for Huhuran took me what, a few days? Also, only the front-line melee had to stack up on NR, not everyone.

It wasn't just the bosses that made vanilla WoW harder and more fun, for example there used to be a thing called "aggro management". Nowadays if you overaggro your tank either died, disconnected or hes not prot.

I'm pretty sure there's a chance you might be able to fall off the world map, since all you see is a little green texture below Sanctum, it's so small you're able to see the "edge of the world" if you look at it from certain balconies, like the one where you port into Sanctum for example.
