Seriously, 3K damage with simple hits? I am practically dominating the area and it's a matter of one single combo for Utsuho to take half my life.

I can handle Suika's just fine because everyone and his dog plays with her but this is the first time I play against a serious Okuu. I have to get used to some strategies before I can defend myself. Call me a lame loser, but as previous Anon says she takes tons of damage just like that, it gets quirky to balance the game and mind-set by looking at the HP meter; even if you're the best player, you may by random get your ass beat. It feels that every time an Okuu manages to take damage on me, it wasn't necessarily by skill, but rather "wtf is dat hax, glowing shit glowing shit, CATION CAUTION!!!", just a tiny gap and some luck and it's end of story. It's really the same shit with Suika, but she's way easier to read, and much more straight forward. Instead of raging while losing against Suikas (not that I remember that even happening) it's just boring, no feelings involved. In other words, to me Suika is easier to forgive than Okuu, even though they're both equally terrible/broke characters.

What do I do if it seems like the network I'm using at uni blocks port 10800? Can I still connect? Or is it just hosting?

>> No.3428517

>>3428445
That would leave me with Patchi. Sure, I see your point, but it's annoying how Okuu's 5C devours fukken everything on it's way through the screen; and it always gets me that the 6C lasts forever. Patience is at demand, but seriously, I don't love this game so much that I sit in the rape corner while waiting for that itsy bitsy little gap in Youmu's strings of hell. Same goes here, just that the frustrating factor is that it seems way too often that your Okuu on the street just throws random attacks, and pulls off some cheap combos once in a while just to look cool.

>> No.3428554

>>3428508
If your uni's network blocks port 10800 both in and out then you can't use it at all. But you can use just any port you'd like, and you'll be able to connect with a port that allows connections out. You'd still have a problem if nobody uses any other ports than 10800. Check port 7500, there's several players using that port for hosting games, including me.

>> No.3428562

>> No.3428941

>>3428909
Yeah, that's the risk of standing over characters with dragon punch type moves. You might be able to catch wakeup DP by covering the wakeup spot with bullets before icecar since youmu 623B only has melee invincibility, although I've never tested that theory before.

I always stay on the ground unless it's Sakuya, I can't control the character with precision in the air. I was so frustrated I kept doing 5AA 5C followed by any chain which will always miss, I have to 5AAA 5C + chain. (any spell but icekick, Cirno can chain to anything and it will hit)

I don't know how you manage to break my concentration, against previous players I was doing fine. It must be that flying around me that keeps me confused. I hated those times where you moved behind me somehow, going over Cirno's head by a tiny distance.

GGs. Your Youmu pressure is good, but I can't really compliment you on the j.A spam.
Your Komachi needs to stop pretending she's a projectile character: when you get oki, set up bullets, sure, but go in for the melee pressure or j.2A crossup (my personal favorite) rather than just setting up a bunch of wisps. That was the only real thing I beat you on, as you were kicking the crap out of me at zoning, but I could capitalize on knockdowns a lot better.
Also, you need to learn some patience. Dashing in and attacking is NOT always the best answer, as you should've realized when you fought my Yuyuko and Patchy.
Didn't see much of your Suika, but use 2C for quick, wide bullet cover, like you would with Youmu's 2C.

No, thank goodness. I'd pass out from all of Meirin's 2AAA.... hits.

I get very content with sitting back and blocking, especially when I don't feel particularly threatened, so you have to be totally outplaying me to get me to become reckless (which happens all too often against Magister).

Anyway, you can't get too comfortable with always doing that Yukari 5C hjc7(?) j.5C setup from "far away enough", otherwise I'll finally try to take advantage like I did at the very end.

Actually, my j.a spam is a force of habit when dealing with aerial type players. My Youmu air game is rather lacking and it becomes a problem when people choose to jump in the corners instead of block, so most of it is an attempt to catch them on a possibility of a jump cancel. But really though, Youmu against projectile characters who stay back I'm not sure what else to do but charge in and hope for the best since her graze moves leave her very much open.

With our Koma mirrors, again your superiority with the air game showed in the j.2a battles. I don't really know how to deal with the chained short hopping j.2as and thats where it tilted the matches entirely into your favour.

The fifth from the top option (It mentions IP in the middle). Also, you will need to report your proper ip, make sure your ports are forwarded and that you're updated to v1.03.

Proper ip: http://www.whatsmyip.org/
Port fowarding: Run cmd prompt and type ipconfig and take note of your ipv4 address. Launch your router config and make sure the port 10800 is forwarded to the ipv4 address for UDP.

Patch 1.03: http://www.tasofro.net/touhou123/download.html

I got a small problem (I think).

I want to link my 12.3 with my 10.5 and the folder is "touhou 105" and I think the space is breaking my ini. Anyone that knows what I should type in the ini to make it work?

I tested quoting the whole path but it didn't seem to help (unless story mode is supposed to have only one character even when combined with 10.5)

For starters, rename the touhou 105 folder to touhou105 or whatever.

Secondly, the game starts with only one character available for story mode. Get an unlock file here;
http://swr.mizuumi.net/stuff/score123.dat

Replace score123.dat in your touhou123 folder with that file, unlocks all characters.

Tried to look at the wiki but couldn't find anything special about story mode unlocks.

Thank you, I don't know if you've just gotten extremely good or what but I got my ass kicked pretty well. Something was up with my inputs as well and much of the time I look goofily at you in the corner after a crush should have followed up with a dragon punch, and the 5Cs should have been purple slides. And so it begins. The players who go to IRC will find there games there instead of coming to /jp/. In a short amount of time there will be very few players in this thread and thus bring in fewer newcomers. This downward spiral will continue until only pros are left in IRC.

Until the next game comes along.

Actually I haven't being playing toohoos at all; if I wanted to actually play someone I'd just go to /jp/ instead because aside from a few IRC-exclusive players you fags are more fun to play.
This especially includes bros including and not limited to Guy, vvav, MVRC, Saje, a.a., Lim, Duckator, Nipah, among others. Tourneyfags are nothing compared to fun players.

But yeah, I've been blowing the past week or so on DFO so there's been an absence of Tree here for a while; give it a few days and I'll be back on my feet complaining and writing paragraphs about tossing controllers.
I love you /jp/ and would never leave you.

Acceptable, but unlikely. IRC offers more feedback between matches and a better idea of the number of people available to play. The downside is that IRC is full of exceptionally skilled players who have run out of opponents atop the plateau.
