Haven't played Chaos;Head, but going by numbers, Cross Channel.

Cross Channel. Chaos;Head has a good starting point, but fucks up lots of things.

The renewed version of C;H I'd say it's better just because it added routes like a proper VN, but it's X360 only, so shit sucks.

It isn't really deep, the plot is... ok but it's not going to make you think or anything. The writing is rather verbose at times but if that sort of thing doesn't bother you then don't worry about it. Also, only one ending, so if you like to determine your own destiny then you might not like that.

Even if CC has H in it, I wouldn't consider it a VN to read for that primarily. My comment was in regards to eroge that are primarily for fapping.

Regardless, I never said I don't appreciate Cross Channel, I simply said the plot is ok, and the writing a bit verbose. I don't see the problem with that.

It is not supposed to be deep.
It is a good game because by the 2nd or 3rd week you will be hooked to it. If you didn't get hooked during crossbow scenes, then maybe the game is just not for you.

It is one the most memorable ending of all the VN that I have played. Great resolution, great epilogue and basically tied up all loose end.
