Is it possible to pass the JLPT N1 in two years?

>> No.34250490

Yes it's possible

>> No.34250521

yes but that'll require so much time put in that you'll probably burn out soon after starting. no need to rush, man

>> No.34250679

Yes, but it ain't a race, homie

>> No.34251068

>>34250521
Burnout is a meme, there are only varying levels of discipline.

>> No.34251151

okay, big guy

>> No.34251176

>>34248788
Yeah, but only if you have literally nothing else to do. Don't be that guy, anon.

>> No.34251218

>>34251176
Seems to me that this is what people who can't commit to their goals say.

>> No.34255190

You can get most jobs with an N2 anyway. I'd keep N1 for later if I were you.

>> No.34255237

>>34255190
You can get most jobs with literally zero knowledge in Japanese.

yes you can even do it in 1 year. two years is a reasonable pace.

Yes, I am N2 after 7 months of studying around 1h/day, it mostly depends on how good your memory is obviously

I don't count watching because I usually do other things at the same time so it doesn't really take up my time and energy, but I do watch streams. I do core6k, 30 new cards a day and that's about it.
>>34255503
I understand around 80-90% of things I watch unless it's on an advanced topic, and classes/tests are the worst way to learn a language

>> No.34256457

>>34248788
My advice is to ignore online Japanese learning communities and the weird competition/race mentality they have.

By all means get information on methods and resources but don't engage with the amphetaNEETS.

>> No.34260803

depends on your memory, someone with photographic memory could easily

most other people no

Do you even know how much you have to read per day in order to pass N1 within 2 years?

Yes, because I've done it. In like a year and ten month.

Only N1? You should aim at least for N10.

It's definitely possible since N1 is literally for retards
If you've learned any other language you'd be surprised how much harder are theirs N1 certification equivalents

chinese hsk is even easier

Unless you have a brilliant memory, most likely no. Also note that speedrunning Jap learning with nothing but anki and 'immersion' comprised of anime results in a terribly unnatural Japanese with no sense of style or cultural rules, see p.much every anon on DJT and similar. What does N1 help if you still sound like a gaijin retard. If anything this semblance of 'fluency' makes it more embarrasing when you try talking to people with complicated grammar but zero word-choosing skill. Take your time, find a native to talk with and focus not only on understanding sense but also understanding style, context and usage rules. Unless you just want a paper to flex with in which case go through a ton of mock-exams.

A Japanese 13 year old could probably ace the N1 and be done with it faster than every gaijin in the room.
