Either use the 'Troop Replenishmenet cost -1' or raise everyone's affection (since after 7, you can give them bonuses). Maeda and Akechi need TWO bonuses to be spent and is not worth it unless you lack decent units for some reason, militia sucks, and adding troops is pointless when your army costs more than you can sustain.

To be honest, I can't really remember what all I got past sat bonus 60. Up to that point, I'm fairly sure it was

From there, I delayed getting the other Rance bonuses until I had gotten him as close to 6/6/6/6 as possible for a free promote to 7/7/7/7 (never did get a second speed book so got stuck with 7/7/7/6). Also got him the 4th attack around when I was fighting Xavier the first time, mainly because of the apostles.

Other than that, mainly stuck with -1 troop replenishment until it no longer pops up, convert Maeda into a Kabuki actor (don't forget to get him to 6/6/x/x for easy 9/9/x/x), +50 max troop size to everyone (for 30k bonus and conserving money for going to war with Mori around turn 23),and the +3 appreciation bonus (for getting special attacks such as A. Cutter, White Destruction Beam, Accurate Shots, vers. 2 of basic attacks, boosting those with potential for high levels, and the important end game points/merchant passive skill).

The old men aren't really that useful if you've recruited those two semi-generics in Kyo unless you don't go to war with Mori or Takeda for their captains. The cat is stupid as it can only give up to 30 new troops per turn and you won't have that many commanders for the majority of the game.

Not sure what that Akechi choice does as I never reallu used him in combat (good exlpore/construct/search stats though), perhaps something like Maeda?

Teasing Mitsuhide away for his daughter isn't exactly something you'd do when trying to optimize.
It takes a lot of books to get him to 6/6/6/6, two Sat bonuses to shame him away, and then you get a 8/8/8/8 Tactician. Problem is Tacticians are horribly slow and don't really do anything special beyond their skills, and Mitsuhide/Gracia has very poor skills.
I'd have given her some special ability at least...

Depending on the tactician.
Someone like Aoi who comes with huge stats (hard to kill) and can boost the whole team, or Sanada Tourin who has 'Battle Rating down' are very useful.
Plus, you can use them for Battle Permits (instead of other more combat worthy units)

Since I'm in a fair mood:
Yoshihisa(first one) will almost always defend.
Put one footsoldier defending in front and strong ranged attackers, and win via battle rating.
Ignore Kazuhisha, since he will ALWAYS attack and damage.
Deploy Uesugi Kenshin or uruza against Toshihisa, and a footsoldier with Protection Paper(if you have it). Absorb Toshihisa's attack, and thanks to Kenshin or Uruza's accurate shots, he will be unable to attack. Or simply, sacrifice a unit. Rest of the Army is doable.
The tactician kid is relatively simple. Keep a coupld hard hitters for him.
Agireda is death. She will most definitely kill somebody, and you have stretched your resources.

So, 3 out of 5, without MUCH trouble.
If you are unlucky, they may do a 6th unrelated attack(outside the Blitz).'If you are lucky, they won't even attack the same area, so no danger of losing a province.

I believe there's an event before they start appearing in battles.
There's also a one-turn lull before they blitz. It'll say something like "Takeda is gathering its forces" or something, I think they just don't attack you on that turn, but the next they'll blitz your ass. And it's a pretty nasty blitz. I'd say it's worse than the Shimazu blitz.

Yeah, you have to pay attention all the time but you can see it during enemy countries' turns when they hire the generals.
Note that every single time you conquer a country, all their commanders become available for hire by others. So if you conquer everything but one country, the recruitment pool will become enormous and it'll take forever for them to get hired. It's better to not conquer anything until you know where they all are.

You never get ActionTextbook2 frol levies(or any lv2 book).
There is a dungeon that gives you one, but I cannot remember which( going through dungeons can give normal action books, that do not work for musketeers, warriors and ninjas).
Unless you plan to go for Orochi, keeping Youmeishou is kinda pointless, since Xavier hits on percentage and protecting/healing Rance and Kentarou is quite easy.

The point is:
Kazuhisa and Agireda can only ATTACK.
They have a lot of units that keep doing damage.
Yoshihisa will defend, Toshihisa has two attacks that you can take away and Iehisa is a tactician.
Since there is no reason for you to defend all of their attacks, you should do the easier ones instead of stretching resources too much.
The important part of the Blitz is to not lose too many territories, and not RISK a unit falling in battle, since it may be killed.
If you take the risk of death and have a decent army, sure, you can take them on.
For challenge;s sake, I defended against 6 attacks (1 normal plus blitz) in 5 star, and defended against the Takeda one too.
But that is not efficient.

At 2 star or 5 star, either Ran Route(starting with bonuses) star, since you can finish up early, or Monkey Kill so you can do extra events and gather an army full of End-Game Plus points and clears easily.

Yamamoto is not that good since it does not allow you to do certain events, and there is a wasting period (turns must pass) before the plot progresses, same for True route, and Kenshin does not work due to different winning focus.

How do points function actually ? I finished the game for the first time not too long ago, was pretty thrilled at the idea of beginning a game with a shitton of bonus, but I only got 5 points in the end.

Then I reload my game, clear every fucking territory that I was missing so I control the whole map, clear a shitload of character and so on.

New game. Still 5 points to spare.

The faster you beat the game, and more chara clear you get, more points.
Choose the shortest route and rack up points.

A new normal game = 60 points.

You lose one point per turn, so if you take too long, you won't get any points. Character clears and objectives can extend how long you can wait to complete the game but you need to complete it in a timely fashion to get any points.
