She also said that no one can be cute except for herself, and that anyone else even trying to is useless.

if you think you are so cute, try and take care of your face instead of piling on makeup, bitch

Don't worry, your perfect image of Musume is clearly locked in a safe and nothing is going to get at it.
The point is because of this all you can do now is spout out hate like a broken record, why even try to convince someone like that of the Merits of Eri, Reina, Ai now. You are taking it far too seriously, you need to let it go.

So what do you listen to now?

Well, maybe I´m not a Koharu Kusumi fan but, when I read this news, it was a huge shock for me ´cause I never expected this to happened.
It´s quite sad because in my opinion, I beleive that Hello! Project is loosing alot of members, they have talent or not, release singles or not, I thintk it´s really sad that now, 6 months later, again loose another member.
Well, let´s just wait to see what happened in the near future.

I completely doubt Koharu had much choices in deciding to graduate or not. Most are graduating out of their own will, mostly because either they have plans for the idols or their making way for the new, or perhaps the idols are losing their interest or slowing the pace of the group. But it certainly is very rare for an idol to decide to quit being an idol of their own will. I can't think of really any who wanted to leave their spot and risk themselves to start all over again. It's just survival of the fittest >_< it's not that surprising considering the graduation spot is against 5th and 6th gen and the new 8th gen. Wish she excelled more early on and gain more solos, now it's just a bit too late >_<

I can't wait to see 9th gen, I got a feeling they'll be bringing in a surprise girl in addition to 2-3 audition winning girls. Tsunku is just sneaky like that lol.

Koharu really grew on me as time went by. she really lights up a room. Her smile, her genkiness! And I think she's really talented. It's quite surprising to hear this news! But it's not so sad because she can handle herself in a solo career of some sort I'm sure. She's really conident in front of a camera too. I have to say though I'm glad it's Koharu and not say.....Sayumi or Eri.....I'd DIE if they left!!

LOL, even he realized that his "miracle member" was just a spoiled incompetent drab they kept doting with attention in hopes she would give something back eventually.
Considering the speedy decision, I even wonder if he got into love affair like that slut Kago while busy loitering around doing nothing constructive as per her habit.

From reading the 2ch threads it seems there are around 7 possibilities all of which I really don't wish to invest too much of my time into as I am not a Koha wota nor wish to dig into that discussion.
But if it is how you say a one sided Tsunku decision I have a lot more respect for the guy, clearly he saw as you noted a general stubborness in her personality and saw the clay had taken full form and it wasn't going to work with what he envisions Musume future.
But at the same time it really makes you wonder if there was some riff raff going on with the executives or family issues.
Again, not being that invested in Koharu I'll let the 2ch wotas occupy their time with that discussion. But it really makes you wonder what Tsunku is going to do next.

Also

I'd be pretty crazy to make an argument against the 2003-04 H!P concerts with Abe, Maki, Ayaya, Musume in their supportive prime and level of national support.
But at the same time I am sort of glad to not have the emotional "baggage" some of you fags have from then. I am able to listen to all of Musume and note the victories across its history. And I've said it before, a lot of the older Musume songs simply aren't for me.
But at the same time the attitude you and alot of older fans hold have strangle holded girls into a tiny period of time. Watch any of the solo Maki, Ayaya, Abe appearances and watch which songs they cheer for while scoffing at any of their newer releases. Fan will be born in and out of all these generational changes most with different mindsets.

Alright already, I'm so fucking tired of all this Love Machine this, Love Machine that. It's about time to get this out of my chest once and for all.

Hear me out, nostalgic faggots: What do you think has been instrumental in its so-called success? Appeal, talent, popularity? Forget about it, you've just been lying to yourselves all along. Love Machine sold that much solely because it was low-key propaganda.
You believe that I'm just being delirious, don't you? So why don't we take a hard look at the preceding singles and figure out a common pattern to all of this?

First off, we have Manatsu no Kosen, whose sales clocked in at 235,010 copies. Basically a nothingness when you consider that the group used to sell twice as much on a bad day. Furusato fared even worse, netting less than nothing: just 170,670 copies.
And bear in mind, kids, that it's 1999 I'm talking about. The Japanese music business didn't shrink until the second half of '00s and such six figures sale were nothing to write home about back then.

Long story short, we are left with a group with a track record that spells waning luster all around, then comes Love Machine which effortlessly boosts sales times ONE HUNDRED. Holy balls, how could this break happen?
I'll tell you how: first read the lyrics, they are all "HURR DURR We are in economic doldrums, but don't worry for the world will bow before us. NIHON STRONG!". Then ask yourself: What could resonate more with an embittered, indebted Japanese from late '90s who had his ultranationalistic pride punctured once more, this or yet another schmalzy love song?
If you chose the first answer then congratulations, you discovered the secret of Love Machine's success.

I have to agree here. As said before, it's pretty clear that Japs liked Love Machine for the same reason Nazis love Lili Marleen. They both reminded them of their pitiable lives and fed them some feel-good bullshit to allay their misery.
It wasn't because of the girls' "talent" so much as the fact it was propaganda through and through that it garnered success. When you look at it this way, it comes as little surprise that the mojo started to die off as soon as they went back to mushy love songs nobody wanted to hear.

Hadn't it been for Tsunku being the first idiot to rise to the opportunity and dash down a cheap propaganda song the group would have disbanded no more than one or two years later later. The only upside is that the girls would have ended up falling into obscurity either ways, except they would've been spared all the gruelling work to live up to a "talent" they never had.

In fact, I wasn't absolutely implying that. I just want the rose tinted glasses wearing faggots to take them off for a second and realize that Love Machine didn't sell because it was good but because it matched up perfectly with the mood of that era.
Even Der Fuhrer's Face, Faccetta Nera and Lili Marleen were popular in their own respective countries and in their own time, but arguably not because they were good.

The promotion campaign for the last two singles was impressive and widespread. As for the t.v. shows, it is because it was becoming such a wota only show that the shows were pulled. And lets just clearly state that Haromoni and Yorosen were handled by retards with no ideas and budgets of the high school band.
That being said, I think Tsunku pulling Musume off the weekly idol format is the right thing to do, Bijo Houdan well..say what you want about that, clearly trying to clean up public image a bit.
But ask yourself how much extra buying power is episode 515 of Idoling or Akbingo really going to get you in an extremely rough economy and tough idol competition.

Funny thing is, they aren't supposed to be means of promotion but just extra fanservice. You have to be pretty naive to think that someone who watches or buys merchandise is no stranger to the group and isn't likely to buy their singles as well.

Of course I'm not that naive, Hello Morning had adverts all over the place. The point I was making is that by show 515 the show is almost certainly a insular audience and isn't drawing in new demographics. What Tsunku did with the recent promotion campaign was more sophisticated. Constantly falling back on them just reveals the group's weaknesses and the total lack of merit or allure of the current lineup. Reminiscing about the past while failing to live up to it is a washout move of the highest degree.

I must give it to him, Tsunku is a shrewd marketing strategist but he couldn't have succeeded at keep his group running on empty for so long without the a little help from his following and their stupidity.

What he did is in substance to build a sense of false confidence between the management and the fans.
Fans get worried that if they don't bleed themselves dry on the new single release Tsunku would keep making mediocre music.
But Tsunku knows that keeping them on pins and needles will panic them more and more and line his own pockets faster, so he just keeps doing his clever con trick.

It's the same reason people buy tons of MM bikini photobooks. They believe that the more they buy, the stronger a message they'll send to the management that they want more spotlight for her.
It never happens, it has never happened, but this doesn't stop them from stubbornly pursuing their delusions and helping Tsunku make money.

When you think about it, Morning Musume is seriously headed for a fate worse than death.

You know whats funny about the feminist argument with H!P is? Its the fact that you are actually arguing over when the girls are given more freedom in their lives...
I won't hear any of that used up and dry shit with H!P because they reward good behavior. Clean girls not fucking around, drugging, talking shit on the tabloids are not welcome. Of course this has ousted several members but they knew the consequences.
And to think of the typical image of Japanese fuck girls going to clubs, druggin, and acting like yankiis I just think you need to get the fuck out with your argument.

And life after Musume the best possible situation has always been to be solo singers like Abe, Johnson, Maki. And blogging for ex members just shows that people continue to support and care for their idols as their life goes on, something that is very healthy.
>I've yet to see one of them working any of these jobs as a matter of routine.

And the last time I checked, Tsuji made 115k dollars last year and she hasn't done shit but get knocked up and blogged/talked about it. Get the fuck out.

I'm getting tired of repeating things I've already said upthread, but if they really cared about their fucking idols the best they could have done would have been making the effort of supporting them through their endeavors. You know, by buying their shitty discs or something.
In reality, all H!P fans do is ensuring that Morning Musume will live on no matter how bad things are getting. Considering the only real constant in the whole equation is Tsunku, I can only gather that the only thing you have in your mind is his cock.

And don't even start listing Kaori as an example of solo career. She released a couple of singles, realized they sold like crap and threw up her hands in resignation.

Get over yourself and make sure to realize that they never had a voice in anything, thus are uninfluential in sales and just detrimental for the public image of the group. Always.

If you compare to other idol groups like many of the trolls are doing here, it doesn't matter what the sell your group is shit and all the fans are blind, etc...

>Do you guys not like H!O for some reason?
It spawns uneducated fans completely unaware of most of things involved with Musume.
Instead creating fanboys and fangirls who say kawaii and type like cell phone messages in every post.
Not all of H!O is shit however, several of the mods and translators are well aware of the bulk of H!O faggotry.

Not a problem, just telling how some feel around here about H!O. That is a fine place for a casual fan
