I've finally read the Tsukihime manga after finally wanting to dip my toes into the story with it and I really enjoyed, like start to finish I thought it was pretty good.

Too the point that I finished in a day and as I was just over 2/3rds of the way through i realized I how quickly I'd came to like the characters.

I've read Fate for the first time like 12 fucking years ago so I don't remember for sure, but I only knew about Saber being King Arthur, nothing else was spoiled for me. I was disappointed with HF3 as an adaptation but when Shirou casts Rho Aias, the swords are busting out of Archers arm, and his pain is wonderfully expressed through Sugiyama's voice acting it feels like all is right with world.

The first time he got help with coloring was in Kagetsu Tohya - Koyama (who wasn't part of TM back then) helped him color some CGs, and even recolored some of the old ones (H-images from Flower of Thanatos, two of which were reused from the original novel). Then, Aotsuki Takao joined in helping Takeuchi with Fate/stay night, and he would later even make some servants in FGO (most infamously, Parvati).
I honestly don't know who helps him nowadays, I don't remember seeing any colorists credited anywhere in his recent work.

F/HA is a close second to me with FSN being my first. F/HA is perfection for me as it revolves around the charcters that I love with hilarious and serious moments. Bazett’s story is also amazing with her story being relatable like Shinji’s from Eva, except Nasu is a better writer than Anno and is able to provide a more satisfying conclusion to her charcter unlike Anno as they both are scared of the world and don’t know how to keep living in it. While they’re not exactly the same situation I found Bazett’s fear of the world and wanting to stay away from the real world and people to be like Shinji’s depression and the hedgehog dilemma of being hurt by people if you’re too close to them. From a re-read of the story I found their situations to be a bit similar. Bazett is obviously an adult and was able to survive the world for longer than Shinji. Still, the both of them are scared of others after bad things happened to them. It isn’t a good reason why, but Nasu has been influenced by EVA before so it isn’t a stretch to say that he was influenced by it when writing F/HA.

I still prefer KT due to how optimistic it felt. FHA was filled with the feeling of "none of this, despite how wonderful, is actually possible". It didn't give you much of a continuation, it just showed you an impossible dream. KT, despite having the same setup, embraces the idea that this dream is as real as it gets, and it even gives you really nice postscript scenarios to show that, for example, Akiha will reunite with Shiki in her ending, both of them ready to stay together forever, and Arcueid will also be with him in her ending, together they would destroy the remnant of Nrvnqsr that was inside him, and Ciel will return from the Vatican too so she could (with some jealousy perhaps) watch over Arcueid and her newfound love live.
While not necessary of course, it is nice to hear the definitive "and they lived happily ever after" from the writer, and that's exactly what Kagetsu Tohya is. FHA was far more melancholic in that regard.

The confusing nature of HA is the weakest part of the story so the dream-like nature and it being impossible is a valid critique. They do say that these memories will be like dreams to the people in the world of HA and that the same scenario can happen again in the HA timeline since the last event in the game confirms that Saber and Rider are still alive. I think of the canon HA timeline to be one that has all of the Servants around due to Rin’s experiment. This places HA away from the three original routes and means that the charcters can make the fake memories come true subconsciously. Even if that’s false I found the tragic nature of HA to be beautiful as this miracle will only happen once in a lifetime and that the charcters have to move on from this stagnant paradise towards a new future.
