Composer thread.

Post your music (preferably /jp/-related music, but anything is fine).

I'll start off with yet another Karma rearrangement: http://www.tindeck.com/listen/qxiv

1. Download a composer program like FL Studio
2. Select an instrument
3. Add random notes
4. Keep adding and removing notes until it sounds good
You get better at it the more you do it.

I downloaded FL Studio once, but it looked huge and confusing as fuck so I just got overwhelmed and uninstalled.

Keep trying to understand for an hour or two and check out some tutorials or something, it'll click eventually.

I'm still too ashamed of stuff I'm making to post it.

FL studio is actually pretty intuitive. I'm still a beginner but the learning curve is quite comfortable, even though it looks overwhelming at first.

Everybody starts out that way.
For example, this was the first song (a rearrangement) I recorded using FL Studio: http://www.tindeck.com/listen/fmnb
Half a year later, I rearranged the song again, and the result: http://www.tindeck.com/listen/ixbj

Is there any specific tutorials then?

Dicking around and clicking random things didn't work for me.

I dont know if you are familiar with it, but i composed the Symphony No.9. You should check it out, i think it turned out quite good.

start with something easy, like Mario Paint Composer or something like that.
Get used to it and you can move on later to higher level composers.

This should at least help you start.

I have Jazzware, but I'm not very good with it. In fact, I can't even use it to make covers of tunes I already know. I just can't find the damn notes. Sometimes I have a C that's the note I have in my head, and I need to have one that's a little higher. But D and E are not the right ones then nor are those with # and I'm just left thinking "what the shit?"

Continued from the previous pic. For more advanced stuff, you'll have to check out specific online tutorials or mess around yourself.
(And yes, I know Karma is being played incorrectly in the tutorial - the start of pattern 2 should actually be the end of pattern 1.)

Here's a test thing I've made to try out my new padKontrol. Ended up taking two more hours than needed to get the stupid side-chain compression sorta working.
