>critic on Lux Pain and nothing on Time Hollow

Give me a break Lux pain was actually fun and had a good story overall unlike Time Hollow that is the most linear fucking game I got for the DS. Could've probably finished it in a few hours if I didn't actually try to search all around after each chapter. In Lux Pain you'd lose locations and occasions of talking to some people if you're not careful. Where as in Time Hollow the only thing that could make you loose that I could find is, and even that is with a sort of, if you loose all your time making useless holes (time that you can back with the cat in 2 min.), or if you give wrong answers to the teacher (no idea what happens then since the questions were retardedly simple and I just answered without thinking too much).

Well anyway OP if you want something that had really good potential and blew it go with Time Hollow since you'll finish it in a day anyway. Otherwise I suggest Lux Pain. Even if the translation is shit, there's way more than enough dialogue to make up for it.

Also for things to recommend how about:

Summon Night: Not that much voice acting but good over all

Avalon Code: Fun to play though the main character doesn't speak much (read at all)

Suikoden Tierkreis: really entertaining though you should keep an eye on the walkthrough for where/when you find everyone since you may loose people on the way.

Alright all the above ones have UNDUB versions. Now for the rest:

Lost in Blue: really fun survivor game, though only the first one impressed me... tried 2 but it just felt fake

Trauma Center: ... nerve racking to say the least... I still didn't finish the last stage which kept me from starting the second one

Lunar Genesis: Pretty good game... don't remember it that good... might have an UNDUB

Touch Detective: Fun detective game. You're a loli detective that tries to solve mysteries in a really weird town.

Luminous Arc: Oh yeah this had an UNDUB version as well. Also a pretty fun game

Cooking Mama: Fun when you have nothing to do and feel like learning how to make an omelette

Well that's all I can remember for now.

It's pretty fun. Especially that after you finish it you can still continue playing and doing stuff in the world. The range of items you can create is amazingly diverse. Just trying to make every type of sword in the game will be really difficult. Not to mention the unshackling of the spirits will be a complete drag. But that's what makes the game so good. It's really really complex.

Also I'd suggest getting a walkthrough sometime in the game whenever you feel like it. It's just too huge to comprehend by yourself.

As far as I know, the translator(s) abandoned the project. That last 3% is actually the vast majority of the encyclopedia, which covers pretty much all of the backstory. In other words, we're missing out on 90% of the story because no one will translate that last fucking 3% of the text.

Luminous Arc 1 shouldn't be avoided like the plague. You have to play through it at least once (and suffer through the battle slowdown and grueling world map travel). After you beat that, you can catch a few cameos and such in Luminous Arc 2.

LA2 is quite a bit better than LA1, but both game aren't anything epic. They're fun though, and since I'm a weeaboo, I appreciate being able to play with Enlgish text and Japanese voices. It's fun to pick out things that are said differently than what is in the text.

>> No.3404742

>>3404703
Good timing. Beyond the stifling slowdown and the controls, Luminous Arc 1 wasn't that bad compared to LA 2. Frankly, I liked the music and characters of LA 1 more, and I also thought the broken leveling up mechanics (for healers and stat buffers, at least) were more interesting.

Both are pretty shallow in gameplay for being strategy RPGs though.

Yeah. The story of LA2 is pretty weak. They throw twist after twist at you with few explanations. I like that there are two unique endings. They could make LA2 into a pretty good galge if they gave endings like that for all the girls. Sadie is mai waifu.

Because the story in LA1 is much simpler and straightforward, there's less to go "Huh?" about. Although I have no idea how Cecile could have sealed off her memories and powers and somehow end up as a kid orphan at the Garden. I believe Leon said that he and Cecile used to take baths together as kids at the Garden, so I don't know how that all works out.
