In other mmos, you have a thing call SKILLS/SPELLS button. I don't know how much skills or spells you can later but on the lower lvl it is non existent at the moment.

You also have your usual DPS/TANK/HEAL system which is non existent at the moment in the lower level.

The only problem I'm having is running out of MP pots and waiting for MP to regen, but there will be a consumable shop open later.

What you do with mage is spam magic missile. Max magic missile, goblin summon, mana shield, ancient library. It's very easy to avoid getting hit if you're careful. Just in case you don't know, if you press up or down when using magic missile it will shoot it diagonally. You will have less mana problems as you level up.

Battlemages lose the Kenshiro feel as they level up. I have a lv40 one on another server and they're probably the most spammy class I've tried yet.

Level 16 Battle mage here. Mages do alright in PvP arenas as long as you're a battlemage, anything else and you're fucked.

Low level mages are just plain trash in PVP. Using battlemage skills will let you do decently against mediocre players, but forget anyone that knows what they're doing.

However, a lv45+ battlemage thats actually good is one of the most frightening things you can face in PVP.

Some players I just beat the crap of; once I got in a group of huge scrubs who started referring to me as a "beast;" it felt pretty good.
But when I get up against a skilled Gunner or anybody else who can keep me from approaching from the side I can't last two seconds. Usually I just go from above or below with Florae or Kenshiropalm but the former does shit damage and the latter has recovery so slow they can get up and fuck my shit up before I can move. If I can remember to hold 4 while doing it I can get enough spacing to backstep out but as per my usual fightan game habits I forget to do it 90% of the time, promptly leading into the other person fucking my shit up.
Fortunately uppercut can do that zigzag thing which saves me against miniguns with the right timing, but for the most part all I can do devolves into the usual pre-subjob Magic Missile spamfest until they're stupid enough to get in range.

Well, at least my spear looks cool. ;_;
