I do make sure to catch my oshi live as much as I can though. It's why I appreciate Roberu maintaining that sense of distance and being really firm about his stance on keeping it. The dude's surprising realism slaps some sense into me. I still love the dude to bits but not to the extent that I'm a gachikoi, something reinforced by that healthy separation.

You just have to make yourself aware that this is just a hobby at the end of the day. You buy merch because you're invested and it makes you happy (as well as wanting to support them) but it shouldn't come at the expense of your own livelihood and your life.

I don't think Izuru is gonna be a rival to Astel, honestly. And I also don't think he is the type to be competitive so I can't imagine him joining the tourney without being in the same team as Astel (it took 2 weeks for someone like Meika for Izuru to open up, imagine if he join the tourney with other people). He once leaded Rikka and Miyabi when he joined Miyabi's APEX stream, he was pretty calm and good at it. And also he did APEX with Rikka and Aruran and he once again took the role of the leader, he did it fine as well. But for a competition, who need to be more strict and harsh, maybe he is not suitable for that.
